Right, and my question is: will he be willing to play through that pain when he doesn't have a payday as an incentive to play?

Which is an idiotic question since he did it the previous year

He has shown zero indication to indicate otherwise

Gonna be tough to see him go. I have a feeling a team with a substantial amount of space is going to throw an absurd amount of money at him.

Let's just hope they have a top 15 pick.

I love me some JG, but what other targets did we have this year, plus we had no running game. Most teams get into a first and goal and punch it in with the running game.

I doubt it happens, but if we get two #1s (picking lower than 20), it is a really one sided deal for the Saints. We could get a very good rookie TE in the second, which wouldn't replace JG's numbers, but the difference getting two impact players this and next year (two #1s and our #1s) in the first round at CB, WR, S, etc. would greatly outweigh paying JG $10-12 M without the two #1s, plus you wouldn't have to pay the rookies as much.

Yes he did it in the previous year, but last year was a contract year, this year will not be if he is extended.

I'm more worried we match for graham for 11-11.5 a year for 6-7 years with more than half guaranteed.

So he led the NFL in touchdowns, while injured, and while defenses only had to focus on him?

Pretty impressive

So your saying Brees isnt our best player on offense? The last time i checked Brees didnt dissapear in NE or Seattle....

but you want to put all our marbles in that bucket?

And put all our money into 3 players? If we dont start getting younger soon time will pass us by.

Let me state that I am all for keeping Graham. I think he is an elite player but i cant see us dumping all of our money into him when we have needs

He is unfair down by the goal line when there isnt a mass of people. Just throw the ball up and he goes and gets it. One of the best things I love about him.

Was talking to my dad about this situation a few days ago. I dont know what game it was earlier this past season(maybe san fran) but Jimmy got completely destroyed on a play and it seemed like he never recovered the rest of the year. Not that he was hurt but he just seemed a little hesitant when the ball was coming his way after that.

I hope he stays and everything works out but if he does leave, im completely fine with the 2 1st round picks being what we get for him. Hopefully we get lucky with those picks and they work out

I'd certainly trade back one of those 1's.

while i prefer to see him in NO next year, everything has limitations.

Saints seemed to have been preparing their cap situation to pay JG. If they wind up with a few draft picks, there is still the cap space made available for JG to spend on a proven, experienced WR.

If offensive weapons are drafted this year with these extra picks, by the time they are truly producing, brees may very well be done.

I think everyone knows Brees is the best. When someone on here says such and such is the best offensive weapon, they mean besides Brees.

This is strictly my opinion but, take it FWIW.

The Graham tag was non-exclusive to see if anyone would do it. I think they Saints fully intend on matching any team's offer. No team will offer a WR type money, knowing they could possibly give up two 1s as well. This is all part of the game.

I want Graham here. I need Graham here. He is a once in a generation type star, IMO. There won't be another Jimmy Graham for years.

However, the only way they let Jimmy walk, is if they are considering going to a run-oriented offense. With they big deal being made out of Parcells calling Khiry Robinson "the next Curtis Martin", then they could be thinking this with him and Ingram. Run the ball, play solid D, extend the playing life of Brees. With that said, unlikely because the Payton is still the head coach.

Bottom line is I expect Jimmy to be a Saint for at least the next 5 years or so.

Brees cost us the NE game, and idk how you can think he played well in either Seattle game.

Did he have 100 yards passing in the first half of either game?

And Brees is the best player in saints history. Graham is the best weapon in saints history

Perhaps you did not see my response?

He was in a contract year last year. If we resign him to an extension he will not be in a contract year.

It's not so idiotic.

He wasn't in a contact year on 2012. I saw your response, but apparently you can't read.

I mentioned the wrist injury in the post you responded too

You're questioning his character when he's shown exactly the opposite of what you claim his entire career.
