His strength (if it can be called that) was in coverage, interestingly.
Not surprising. Check out his Oregon film, it wasn't unusual for him to line up at slot CB. I would absolutely give up our second for him, but I doubt that would be enough. It's a deep draft, so maybe our 2nd + 4th? Would only cost us about $8m over the next three seasons. I have no idea if the 5th year team option transfers over for traded players, but I'd imagine it does. He was one of my favorite prospects in last year's draft and I'm not going to change my mind based on a mediocre rookie season with a shite franchise. Would not give up our first, though, simply because OLB isn't really a need for us given that we line up in 4 man fronts so often.

This. All day everyday. I would gladly trade a 2nd rd pick for him.

But when has a team ever dumped one of these really high picks, so early in their career, and had it come back to bite them? There might be a really obvious answer i'm not remembering. But seems the team that dumped him, did it for a reason.

Maybe it's just the fact that they're trying to clean house and reload through this draft. The report also says Wake and Wallace are being shopped too.

Yeah, new regime trying to get "their guys" in there. And while I would love the move, "gauging value" != "desperate to trade." I'd guess that there's a 99% chance that we keep Graham, but fully expect to eventually hear that we're listening to offers.

Thats reinforcing my point. Cleveland made out like bandits dumping Richardson.

Yeah, they absolutely did. Just giving an example of it happening recently. Was just trying to think of a team unloading a top 5 draft pick within 2 years and that's the only one that came to mind.
ETA: I still think Jordan will wind up being a good player. He's actually the prototypical strongside linebacker in a 3-4 given his ability to adequately cover TEs along with getting after the QB.

You don't start that with a 2nd year LB(unless he sucks) especially not when the HC who drafted him is still there.

Was going to say I would give up a first for Wake until I realized he is 32. Guess that delay getting to the NFL was longer than I thought.
On Dion, I would easily give up a 3rd for him. He didn't do anything for the Dolphins because he is a 3-4 OLB and they had him playing DE. Hell, some on here want us to get an OLB in the 1st. This guy is a much better pass rusher than anyone we could get at 27.
I think we could also get him for our 3rd and maybe a conditional next year. They are aiming high with the 2nd round. Give me Galette and Jordan coming off the edges on 3rd down

I would agree, but apparently the Dolphins don't. They're a fricking mess and you're thinking logically.

Miami is writing him off too fast. Depending on the deal he would be a VERY nice addition.

Not a chance.

I haven't seen anything indicating what they're asking for in return. If it's an early 2nd round pick. I suspect that they're looking for a first rounder, though.

In any sort of rebuild, that guy "should be" one of the last guys they're looking to unload.

I would even give up our 2nd if we are really looking at another OLB if that's the case. You could do much worse than Jordan at 54 overall.
Posted on 2/28/14 at 3:16 pm to eyeran
Well it might not help that he doesn't fit their team/scheme at all. Maybe, and I'm just spitballing here, they thought they could convert him to be productive in their scheme, now that they realize that's probably not going to happen they're trying to get as much as they can for him before his stock drastically lowers.

I'd give up our 2nd easily for Jordan.

Jordan did not click with the coaches last season, he had to play through a very difficult shoulder injury, and was not seen as a strong fit in their scheme (he's an edge rusher that best fits a 3-4 defe
Put me down for a 2nd as well. shite his athletic measurables alone warrant a late 2nd. I'd even consider 27 if we could swap 2nd rounders
