my 2 cents
1. I'm betting Fairley won't be #1. Among Quinn, Gabbert, & Dareus for me
6. Definitely think Dareus ahead of Fairley
11. Quinn higher
12. Mallett possibly 2nd Rd
4 QBs @ #7-12 with the number of FAs that will be on the market and the low ratings of these?
17. Can't imagine Clayborn ahead of Jordan or Aldon Smith
18. might be a push for Ayers now
24. looks like you worked from Aldon Smith upward to find a perfect storm to get him. Love him but I'd put the odds at less than 5% of being available.
27. I dunno if I've seen Carter mocked 1st Rd by anyone
--title should now be 2nd MD
1.1?

Pretty much no chance Fairley goes #1. He was shown up by Marcel; Dareus at the combine and would be a better pick.
Da'Quan Bowers shouldn't be going in the top 5 anymore at least. He didn't really work at the combine because his knee still hasn't healed form a scope that happened earlier this year. That's a bit of a red flag.
Jake Locker is looking like an early 2nd round pick at this point. He might be fast but his accuracy leaves a lot to be desired.
Cam Newton - 11 of 20 in the passing drill isn't a great show. But it's the Redskins so who knows.
Ryan Mallett - not sure if he'll go this high due to the still circulating character concerns. He basically failed his interview at the Combine and it's worth thinking about whether the Vikings want a malcontent at QB. . . again.
Adrian Clayborn has some medical red flags. Erb's Palsy basically limits him to playing RE. Cameron Jordan might be a better pick.
Akeem Ayers - I'm not sure he'll still be rated this high after his slow 40 at the Combine. While LB is a weak spot for the Chargers, so is there DL. If they drop Ayers, they might take a look at Bruce Carter, Justin Houston or Muhammad Wilkerson, who could play a 3-4 DE.
Those are the ones off the top of my head.

Locker at 8? Is he still a first round pick?
Posted on 3/3/11 at 9:24 am to Meateye
I want the Saints to go Kerrigan or Wilson.
Is there some reason Kerrigan isn't first round?

This draft is very deep at DL.

Ayers will definitely not go on the 1st unless he does incredible at his pro-day. In the past, a 4.8 in the 40 was enough to drop an OLB several rounds, no matter there production. I think he is a 3rd-4th rounder now.

Kerrigan was a beast in college and at the combine, but he is not going to be selected in the 1st. It doesn't make sense.

I think Julio Jones will go hire then what meateye projects.

Once again I dont think there will be a CBA by draft time so all these teams can not go get FA QBs so I have them picking them in the draft
Posted on 3/3/11 at 11:39 am to Meateye
Yall also need to realize the combine is a great way for teams to evaluate but it does not just null the rest of what these guys did in college. Even if Dareus and Bowers did better at the combine doesn't mean they automatically over take Fairley. Sorry

not just Combine on Fairley, plenty of people have had Dareus over him since before the Combine- like Mike Mayock. Fairley is much closer to being a one year wonder than Dareus, with some intangible questions too.
Your QB take is that teams will over draft in value by a half to whole round on some QBs? No one is gonna sign Vince Young, McNabb, etc.? Just trying to decipher.

Another thing this draft will still change more than once before I call it my final mock. So need to calm down.

yup, no signing but...
so you over draft in value, say Mallett by at least a half round, if not a full round. He cannot do anything with the team as far as learning until a new CBA.
The CBA is done, say August 15 with a few weeks before the season. Vince Young, McNabb, or even Kolb in trade for a '12 pick could then be done. A veteran would certainly be a better option for such a compressed preseason (or no preseason) scenario. In that scenario, no rookie could be expected to be ready to start.
Even with no trade some vet on the roster would have to get the season going at least (for oner of those early drafted QBs)- like Tavaris Jackson, Chad Henne, Ryan Fitzpatrick, etc. So if the rookie maybe cannot even start for the year, that makes overpaying draftwise makes even less sense.
