Doesn't matter, Saints will draft an Alabama player over Fournette

Would be pretty foolish to take Fournette over a guy like Jon Allen that you can put next to Rankins and anchor a defensive line for the next 5-10 years. Running back will never be a featured position under Payton, the Ingram pick didn't make sense for this reason and a Fournette pick wouldn't either. There's a pile of good backs in this draft though that will still be available in the second and third round. An upgrade over Cadet should be addressed, but do it in the 5th or 6th round, not the 1st or 2nd

I really wish SP would give some of these guys a chance. Too bad he is a Bama fan.

The Saints have, what, 1 Bama guy in Ingram? What are some of you smoking this early on a Monday?

I think Beckwith has a greater chance of sliding into the second than White

Although that has more to do with perception than my opinion of Beckwith.

I think Beckwith is a fricking outstanding player. I think he can be a really solid ILB

Tre White in the first would be great and then Godchaux and Neal later in draft. The rest I don't care for. If the Saints draft a RB in the first round (I don't give a shite who it is or what school he went to), I would throw something through my TV.

Godchaux is interesting. I agree with a previous poster that said he should come back for his senior year. He can play DT in a 4-3 & also play DE in a 3-4. He's easily above average at run defense & rushing the passer. I like his high ceiling, but he could also be a tweener that doesn't transition well to the NFL.

Godchaux is more developed at this stage than most other juniors who decided to leave. It's not easy finding an inside linemen who can rush the passer and hold his own in the run game. He's already ranked as the 6th best DL for the 2017 draft. That means 1st-3rd round pick

I like Godchaux cause I think his ceiling is really high and worst case scenario for him is a quality 3rd down interior pass rusher. He'd be better in an under front so Saints aren't ideal but still I think he has potential to be quality 3 down 3 tech in a 43.

I don't care what anyone says, if Fournette is there and we don't draft him I am going to be pissed. Downvote all you want about we don't need that position or the position is a dime a dozen, but he's a hometown product and would set that position for the rest of Drew's career.

Name me a top 10 pick the Saints have drafted and you've been satisfied with... You can't. This front office misses on more first round talent than almost any team in the NFL. I'll gladly take a pick where we know they'll be no question they'll work out, and what better than having the hometown product instead of him being a superstar somewhere like Carolina? Fournette will be a top 5 RB almost immediately.

If the Saints pick him it better be cause they want to convert him to LB. Also if you care about the kids future at all why would you want him to go to a Sean Payton offense?

So Carolina, or the Browns, is better?

Perhaps you missed the part where I said I don't care what anyone thinks such as we don't need that position.

You're just being foolish. The team has bigger concerns than "having a hometown hero." They want to win. Their problem is not on offense, and definitely not at RB. RBs are a dime a dozen. This team has a top 2 scoring offense with it's current talent, and a last-ranked defense for the 3rd straight season.

If they have a top 10 pick and take a fricking running back then they deserve 0-16

I dont see why. Outside of the QB position, if you gave me all former LSU players i could put together a better team than the 2016 saints. I dont see how they can overlook the talent coming from 60 minutes away like the Saints organization repeatedly has. Quite frankly, it's embarrassing.

I know there's probably not a need for it, but I would be completely fine with Jamal Adams as a Saint and the attitude and swagger he would bring to our defense.

Lets start with defense: not listed by position (for example: olb or ilb) or in any particular order

DL: Danielle Hunter, Bennie Logan/Kyle Williams, Michael Brockers, Tyson Jackson/ Ricky Jean-Francois
LBs: mingo, Debo, Kwon, Kevin Minter, Kelvin shepherd
S: Eric Reid, The Badger, Jalen Mills
CBs: Patrick Peterson, Delvin Breaux, Rashard Robinson, Morris Claiborne, Ron Brooks, Tharold Simon

Offense:

OL: Joseph Barksdale, Trai Turner, Vadal Alexander, La'el Collins, Andrew Whitworth, Jerald Hawkins
RBs: Jeremy Hill, Alfred Blue, Spencer Ware, and next year Buga (just throwin him in)
WRs: Jarvis Landry, Odell Beckam, Lafell, Dwayne Bowe, Rueben Randle, Russell Shepherd
TE's: yall got me on this one. Dillon Gordon i guess
QB: just for laughs Mettenberger or matt flynn

P: Brad Wing
K: No idea

Returner: we can sign Baby Trindon

These positions will also improve significantly with next year's draft.

Only guy I would really care for is Beckwith. The rest are either not good or not at positions of need worth their draft price.

I would take one of these 5 off of that list in a heartbeat.

Beckwith
Tre White
Adams
Pocic
Godchaux

Godchaux is my sleeper off LSU's team. Imagine drafting him to put on the side of Rankins and developing them together. I'm quite sure DC can be better than what Fairley is now.
