defenses don't watch out for PT. PT going out into the slot, having a LB cover him does not scare DC's. Reggie is worth more as a decoy than PT is as a RB.

But yeah, we can find a pretty cheap 2nd-4th round pick give us close to what PT gives us, but you're not going to find someone do what Bush did for us last season.

All this u can find a 2nd - 4th round pick shite to replace PT is bullshite!!! You people need to watch more football. I guarentee 31 other teams would love to have the production PT gives us. Don't give me he's only productive cause Reggies a great decoy. Reggie is not in the game everytime the Saints make a big play. Fact. Learn how to see talent for what it is not based on hype or draft position. Watch more football!

He's more replaceable than Reggie. That's the point.

I didn't read the thread but I'm posting my thoughts ...

You have to look at which of these guys can be replaced easier...and the answer is Pierre. Reggie's explosiveness can't be matched. Pierre's tough running and good vision can be found through an undrafted free agent. Reggie stays.

I am pretty sure most of the 31 other teams already have a back that can rush for 700 yards

NFL Running Backs are a dime a dozen, I love PT but Reggie brings a more than just a running back skill set to our team. So I guess I vote Reggie.

Not even close BUSH much more versatile and star power counts for something in this league.

Money aside, for me it's a coin flip.

Reggie's extra value comes in the passing game and as decoy, and on another team that would be hard to duplicate.

BUT this team with Payton's creative offensive scheme, and Drew as QB that value goes down cause they could find ways to duplicate it.

I don't think PT is easy to replace as some has said, and looking at how long the Saints tried to work out a long-term deal with him, and didn't draft another back I think they agree. That said RB is still easier to replace than most spots so...like I said coin flip.

ETA though I do wonder if the people who think RB is such an easy position to replace, bitched about cutting Deuce or wanted to draft Beanie Wells

It's going to be interesting if there's a lockout next year, for sure.

Also, as far as RB being easily replaced.....I don't really think anyone in the NFL in a skill position is "easily replaced", you're just picking the lesser of two evils.

damnit. No lockout!

I hate to think of missing a year of all-pro Drew and Reggie and so many other of our guys in their prime

Actually it was almost 800. And, no, not on only 147 carries they don't.

well since you have all the stats, I bet you already knew that Reggie had a higher YPC than PT last year
