Throwing the word Listen around more than Payton and Brees.
Anh of course it was Mickey Loomis
Didn’t recognize his voice at first.

So did he get that from Sean Payton or did Payton and Brees get it from him?

Didn’t Randy Mueller say listen a lot too?

Can’t be worse than Stich and Vilma saying ‘right?’ after every fricking statement they make on the TV broadcast.
Verbal crutches are getting out of control lately.

Start your sentences with "Look, I think this, I think that..." and you too can run an NFL franchise.

Tell me you haven’t watched coach and executive interviews without telling me you haven’t watched the interviews the last 15 years

Loomis has been doing it pre Payton and Brees. Not sure if Mueller did it as well as someone said. It's definitely one of those power things that executives do to try to give their words more importance and make the other person feel inferior.

The "right" thing is a verbal crutch like umm, hey, etc.
Look and listen are 100% intentional power plays. That's actually taught to executives for control purposes.

when you have to couch your words carefully because of having such a high profile position, ie, speaking to media, it makes a lot of sense to use tools to slow your speech. allows you to formulate the words first
