The New Orleans Saints are re-signing wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey for the 2022 season, as first reported by NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill. Humphrey was the last restricted free agent for the Saints to make a move on this offseason, having previously issued one-year contract tenders to wide receiver Deonte Harty and defensive tackle Shy Tuttle while re-signing offensive lineman Ethan Greenidge and choosing to move on from tight end Garrett Griffin and kicker Brett Maher.

Humphrey returns to add more competition in the receiving corps for training camp; he’s struggled with injuries in the NFL, totaling 16 receptions in 18 games played. He’s picked up 295 receiving yards with 3 touchdown catches with New Orleans since signing with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Texas. Look for him to compete for a roster spot with other reserves like Kevin White, Kawaan Baker, Easop Winston Jr., Jalen McCleskey, and Kirk Merritt.

Tweet from Nick Undewrhill..."Lil'Jordan Humphrey will be returning to the Saints, per source. He's rehabbing his ankle injury and is expected to be healthy and back on the field for the offseason program."

He actually looked pretty good at the end of last year. Like it finally might have clicked.

He'll probably be making league minimum, so there is no risk here.

I'd say it's highly likely that we draft a WR in the top 3 rounds.

I think we have a 1st, a 2nd, & 2 3rd round comp picks...this can all change if we land Watson though.

I’m glad he’s returning.

A Bill Parcells recommendation.

I think he actually has better/stronger hands at the POA than Callaway. Callaway is too soft IMO. Doesn't have that grit/determination to consistently take the ball out of the air on contested catches. You see it, then you don't.

Good luck getting anyone here to admit that.

Seemed that way to me. So much so that I stated to get excited about the possibilities with such a big guy.

I always love a bargain.

I agree with strong hands, and being aggressive at the ball. His problem is lack of speed, best way for him to make that up is to be a precise route runner. If he can master that, then he has a chance to take the next step.

Which I saw him improving at last year. He just needs to be healthy to work and get better in his route tree. Gotta learn the concepts and plays to execute. Can't do any of that rehabbing injuries.
