Reasoning: The Defense will stay great

How it’s going: Has not stayed great

Reasoning: Continuity with the Sean Payton era

How it’s going: we fricking suck

Glad I could help.

All of our defensive stats are inflated positively too bc we played a ton of shitty QBs.

So yeah, there’s no reason why he should be the coach.

2018: 13-3
2019: 13-3
2020: 12-4
2021: 9-8

[Dennis Allen enters the chat]

2022: 7-10
2023: 7-8

Dennis Allen’s wins against teams with winning records:
2022 Seattle (9-8)
2022 Eagles (14-3)
2023 Colts (8-6)

That’s it! The man has beaten three teams with a pulse in two years. Two of those teams (2022 Eagles & 2023 Colts) were lead by Gardner Minshew.

It was a lazy, out of touch and woefully boring hire.

HITF they got those amazing records with a washed up limp noodle arm brees is unreal. did not look great in playoff game in 2019 but he was atrocious in 2020 covid playoff game. could not throw past 15 yards it seemed.

The Saints were 57 million over the salary cap with an aging roster and no proven coach else wanted the job.

And no one will want it this offseason because we are even worse.

We will have to sell a high draft pick and full rebuild next offseason

We had a laughable schedule this year and STILL can’t have a winning record Imagine if we played in a remotely decent division. We would be worse. And it really all stems to coaching because we honestly have enough talent to be much more competitive than we’ve shown. Fire Loomis and this staff. It’s a joke.

That is a hilarious stat, maybe not for Minshew.

Any idea how many teams they faced with winning records? Over 32 games, he’s had to face at least a dozen

Sean Payton in FIFTEEN seasons coaching the Saints had 4 losing seasons, never worse than 7-9.

With another loss in the last 2 games, Dennis Allen will be halfway to that total in TWO seasons with a chance for both to be worse than any Payton ever had

They will someday be forced to have a yard sale to get out of the mess they are in.

The problem with Allen is he sucks as a coach and the best assistant coach he had was at DL and left to a rival. Notice how bad our DL play has been this year.

That is the problem with this organization. They have no thought to the future and simply think about the now, and even with that think continuity with a proven failure of a head coach is somehow better than a shot with a young and up and comer.

Think how long it took the Raiders to recover from the Allen hire.

Holy $hit!!! Dennis Allen as Saints head coach is 3-11 against teams that ended with (or currently have) a winning record. If you add the Vikings and Buccaneers who are currently .500 (7-7), his record drops to 3-13.

2022
Tampa Bay (8-9) L
Minnesota (13-4) L
Seattle (9-8) W
Bengals (12-4) L
Ravens (10-7) L
Pittsburgh (9-8) L
49ers (13-4) L
Tampa Bay (8-9) L
Eagles (14-3) W

2023 (so far)
Houston (8-6) L
Jaguars (8-6) L
Colts (8-6) W
Detroit (10-4) L
Rams (8-7) L

Too bad that Gardner Minshew can’t play for more teams.

Did you include TB in 2022 because they were the division leaders even though they had a losing record?

Regardless, you're looking at a winning percentage between 0.188 - 0.250. Which is about what you should expect from a coach that has career winning percentage of .222 before taking the job. I think it's pretty evident that this is who he is as a HC, and the front office is obviously making decisions knowing this.

Should have started it the day that Payton announced he was quitting. Hell, probably should have started it the year before when Brees retired.

You've got to have the right people in-house to establish a culture/identity and pull off the rebuild, though (see the 49ers, they were actually able to rebuild/contend/suck/rebuild/contend, all in the past 15 years). Don't think the Saints currently have that in place on Airline Dr.

Nope. Just a moment of dyslexia. It’s hard to see through all these tears as I look at those kinds of stats.
