Don't take this personally, because doing the mocks is a lot of fun for fans and I enjoyed reading yours.

Having said that, #11 is too high for Conley and Harris won't make it to #32. Wormley is an okay value at #42, but he's a bad fit for the Saints because he's more of a 4-3 DT and not an edge rusher. Woods and Taylor fit needs, but you have them in the 3rd round and they're both 4th-5th round talents IMO. I don't like the 6th and 7th round guys either.

Sorry

7.229 Gehrig Dieter, WR Alabama

Thoughts: This mainly goes as a special teams pick for a guy that could eventually work his way into the WR corps. Once productive Transfer from Bowling Green has good size 6'2" 207 and is a polished WR working from the slot. Got lost in Bama's shitty passing attack.

No thanks. His hands are fricking terrible. They make bricks look like Charmin Ultra.

Conley will go in the top 15,. Harris, i agree is iffy at 32. He is just may favorite of that 2nd tier grouping.

Saints could use another DT, and Wormley played a lot of snaps at DE. He is very much a hybrid. Can take up blockers or push the pocket and would be a valuable rotation player on a line that lacks depth.

He got the yips when he moved further South. He was a great blocking WR for Alabama last year, but he dropped a bunch of easy passes, including two in the National Championship Game.

That's a good looking draft, good job.

I'm a big fan of Reeves Maybin, Harris too but you would have to use #11 for him.

i think we can risk a 7th round pick on a guy that was able to catch 92 of 93 balls at one point

Sure. Just giving you the perspective of someone who watched every snap he played last season.

Not really.

In fact, not really at all.

There's noting upon which to expound, other than that I think this is a deep draft and there will be better talent available in round 3. So you think they're going in round 3. I say round 4 or 5 for each. We'll know after the weekend which one of us is correct. If I'm wrong I'll have no problem admitting it.

Nothing crazy there. Love Harris and would like to get Rivers as well.

Last few years? Seen worse. And by the folks that get paid a lot to get it right.

Especially the CBs, where PJ is still basically a rookie and many others were found on the scrap heap.

i think it just stems from them being "our" guys. As if, if they can get playing time with us, they must be ok. Compared to top NFL teams, we are lacking at CB and have serious questions at DT.

If they are going to allow Onyematta to play some DE, and if Wormley can play some DE, you have the option of moving some people around the line. DL depth should never be underestimated. That really showed in our Super Bowl year

If no Butler deal I think the chance of CB at 11 goes up exponentially. So much so, he might be the my favorite guess who it might be.

Before getting worked up about which one at what spot review some past DB selection orders and how they panned out...

2015
1 1 11 11 Trae Waynes Vikings Michigan State
2 1 16 16 Kevin Johnson Texans Wake Forest
3 1 18 18 Marcus Peters Chiefs Washington
4 1 27 27 Byron Jones Cowboys Connecticut
5 1 30 30 Damarious Randall Packers Arizona State
6 2 1 33 Landon Collins Giants Alabama
7 2 10 42 Jalen Collins Falcons Louisiana State

2014
1 1 8 8 Justin Gilbert Browns Oklahoma State
2 1 14 14 Kyle Fuller Bears Virginia Tech
3 1 18 18 Calvin Pryor Jets Louisville
4 1 21 21 Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Packers Alabama
5 1 24 24 Darqueze Dennard Bengals Michigan State
6 1 25 25 Jason Verrett Chargers Texas Christian

2013
1 1 9 9 Dee Milliner Jets Alabama
2 1 12 12 D.J. Hayden Raiders Houston
3 1 15 15 Kenny Vaccaro Saints Texas
4 1 18 18 Eric Reid 49ers Louisiana State
5 1 22 22 Desmond Trufant Falcons Washington
6 1 25 25 Xavier Rhodes Vikings Florida State

2012
1 1 6 6 Morris Claiborne Cowboys Louisiana State
2 1 7 7 Mark Barron Buccaneers Alabama
3 1 10 10 Stephon Gilmore Bills South Carolina
4 1 17 17 Dre Kirkpatrick Bengals Alabama
5 1 29 29 Harrison Smith Vikings Notre Dame
6 2 7 39 Janoris Jenkins Rams North Alabama
7 2 16 48 Tavon Wilson Patriots Illinois
8 2 30 62 Casey Hayward Packers Vanderbilt
9 3 2 65 Trumaine Johnson Rams Montana

I think our depth at CB, DT and DE are all pretty similar. One could be more of a need than the other, depending on who you ask.
