Look dude you want to pay this dude and have the rest of the team suffer so you can watch him catch passes from drew brees except not in tough situations or big games, awesome.

He wrakced up a huge chunk of his stats in the first 6 games. (4 out of 5 games over 100 yards and 6 TDs) ANd those games were against defenses who arent even in the top 15 in the league in passing defense.

The last 10 games he only caught over 60 yards 4 times, only 2 over 100. 4 games under 45 yards and 3 games wihtout a TD at all.

He is spotty, non-physical, cant block, and disapears from games all together sometimes. Its fricking annoying.

If he took a lesser contract and we had a true 1st string wide out and a speed guy we'd be unstoppable. If we pay him a shite load of money and continue this bandaid oline we run we will lose key games continuously

The only thing "top 5" about Graham are his touchdowns. All of his other stats place him no where near the top 5 receivers in the game.

And then sucked a-hole pretty much the rest of the season. And those games he played helathy in were against some of the bottom of the barrel passing defenses in the league, non of which are in the top 15.

Take up for him all you want. I was not impressed by him this season. Not impressed enough to give him 12 million dollars a year. We have other needs and more deserving guys on this team.

Brees with time can make anyone look like a superstar. Brees without time can make our team look confused. Translation: Brees needs time for us to succeed. And paying a TE who cannot block for shite does not help us or that problem.

obviously the tipping point of injury was that throw brees lobbed to him and he hobbled and couldn't even elevate which resulted in an INT. Throughout the game, talib shut him down.

Against inferior DB/LBs he is the greatest chess mismatch we have due to his athleticism, but to beat Seattle Jimmy (even healthy) wouldn't be enough. Give a great QB time, he can pick you apart. Give a running back a good oline to run behind, and he'll beat teams with his legs. Great Olines do wonders for teams. Ask Matt Ryan how having 3 great weapons goes when he has to run to save his life. Or ask Matt Ryan how having no running game makes his life hell.

Jimmy graham is one dimensional, but he is great at what he does. Too bad football offenses are more than just one aspect (pass catching).

Jason Witten is an underrated TE because he's not a superstar receiver, but that guy can block and still move the chains when needed. Another guy is Heath Miller. I rather a guy who can be a 2nd option receiving weapon and play every down because he can block. It makes offenses unpredictable which we were definitely not.

Sure, let him become the highest paid TE in history. Just somewhere else. Drew Brees has made household names out of Marques Colston (7th rounder), Lance Moore (undrafted), Kenny Stills (5th round), Jimmy Graham himself (3rd rounder), and numerous other guys. I'm sorry but you have to draw a line somewhere with all of these guys wanting over 10 million a year. We could go out and sign Branden Albert, Alex Mack, hell maybe both of them for that kind of money.

I know this is part of negotiations, but no way he gets that much from us, nor should he. I wouldn't go over 8 million a year. If he wants more, than he can get it somewhere else.

I still haven't gotten over him completely disappearing in the biggest game of the year.

You think the Saints lowballed with an offer to make him the highest paid TE?

Agreed

We are so sadly predictable. It was tough to watch. Last year i was calling plays before they snapped the ball. And i know a few guys here were doing that as well.

If a die hard fan can spot plays because he watches the games closely. You can be damn sure the opposing players and coaches who watch games over and over and over again were spotting those plays too.

Yes it was partially Payton's fault. And he had no problems admitting that. The big problems still stem from our lost fricking season. We were without our head coach, DC, and GM. We were unable to make changes we need and cut/sign players properly. It sucked. Payton got back with Loomis and the team immediately started improving.

Payton has taken blame himself in many post game interviews. If you dont think he was constantly evaluating talent this season you're crazy. He knows who he wants cut and what positions need to be filled. And everyone knows we need the oline back to elite caliber in order to compete for the championship. Without an elite oline we are destine to make the playoffs and fizzle. With an oline we walk into the superbowl again.

As I said from the beginning, shoulda traded him right away instead of going into the negotiations.

This circus is gonna hurt us and then we're gonna get boned by his contract.

Frick!

Doesn't make sense to pay 2 people a lot of money just for playoffs. We need upgrades. We need to fill in gaps. I want a championship team.

The Seahawks did it with late draft picks and free agents. Why can't we?

I dont know if this will hurt us. But he should be traded. Non-exclusive tag if need be.
