He clearly was the weakest link on that o line.

With Goodwin definitely. After Goodwin left it was C though. People blame our downfall on a lot of things, but not addressing the line sooner and trying to just get by with later picks and UDFAs really fricked us.

Good signing

Draft an OL with one of our first 4 picks and we should be good to go

Per Triplett 720k against cap

Offensive lineman Jermon Bushrod’s deal with Saints is 1 year with the veteran-minimum salary-cap benefit. He gets a signing bonus of $90,000 and a base salary of $1.015 million ($179,000 of which is fully guaranteed). He will only cost $720,000 against the cap.

He is not much of a step down from Kelemente, is just as versatile, and a whole hell of a lot cheaper

Would have preferred Kelemete, but not a bad replacement for vet minimum.

Well there are 64 starting guards in the nfl and he ranked among that number. Not bad for a backup you hope never plays.

I don't care about grades when it comes to backups. Starters, yeah.

When it comes to backup, its OK if he's beat or can't generate a huge push. It's a problem when he's missing assignments, that's when you get brees taking a 300lb linemen blindside and injured.
