Per Nick Underhill

Makes sense, need depth. Definite downgrade from Kelemente though.

This makes me feel better. He knows the system and can fill in when needed.

Eh I don't know. I haven't really followed him after he left NOLA. I want to say before he was entrenched at LT, he was moved around the line like Kelemete. I think we could do much worse for a back lineman. Addresses OT depth for sure.

I'm completely fine with this for depth purposes. We need OLine depth.

Hoping we can land Josh Sitton. Would put him close to home in P'cola.

Would have rather Jahri. Bushrod has not been very good the last several years.

Evans' back issues still linger. At least Bushrod is healthy-ish.

Plus at this point it's probably a pretty damn cheap deal.

Edit:
Not to mention Bushrod can play both tackle spots and can slid in and play guard, while Evans has proven he can ONLY play RG, where Warford is entrenched.

So if Warford goes down sure maybe give Evans a call, but Bushrod makes much more sense.

Awful news. Who was a more maligned offensive lineman than this guy?

tad dramatic

I'd expect us to fill out OL depth via the draft so who knows if bushrod even ends up making the roster

Bushrod may be able to jump to a tackle position for an in-game injury. However, he moved inside because he really cannot play the tackle position any more. So, I would not want to rely on him for several games in the event of an injury.

Kelemente was graded terribly by PFF last year, not sure he's as big of a loss as some are making him out to be.

Obviously his versatility is worth something, but still...

Why people complaining? He’s signed with the hope of not seeing the field. You don’t invest big money in a position you hope never plays.

He’s a familiar backup nothing more.

Not dramatic at all. Look at the way he was discussed on this board 6-7 years ago. He clearly was the weakest link on that o line.

Definitely agree I wouldn't want to see him as a few game replacement.

Hell I was one of the main ones yelling that we need to upgrade over him.
