No he hasn't. His market has changed, and how in the world is he fricking over the Saints or it's fans for not signing a contract right away? Explain that.

Well when you make a salient point, let me know.

Unlikely. Like the Saints, the Cowboys still have a shot at making it to the playoffs. So from here on out every game is the biggest of the season. So there is plenty to be excited about.

He may sign before the free period, but if he does wait, he's waiting for his market to be set.
Which is bull shite if true. Like Duncan said in his article; the Saints should not offer him one cent more than what he already agreed to. If SP wants to hold the team hostage to get more money, I say frick him.

You think fans have a lot of faith in their team to do that, and if they do, you think they have faith in their team in the post season? They've seen this song and dance before.

Duncan is an idiot, and if you're not willing to pay more money to keep him, then so are you, but I knew that already.

Good day sir.

this is about SP unscrupulously taking advantage of the Saints in order to fatten his wallet with either Benson's money or JJ's money.

I think he should do the honorable thing and re-sign the contract that was voided once the language is acceptable to the league.

Either you're incredibly stupid or under 14. Either way

Come on Fox...you can do better than this rantard.

At least Patrick gives it a good college try.

If Payton signs today or in January, what's the difference?

I'll tell you: there is none.

Loomis just got back into work last week.

The team was just given permission to talk to Payton last week.

Chillax.

This is big boy business, clearly it's over your head. Multi million dollar contacts are not written up and negotiated over night.

When Brees wasn't signed that was because he wanted out of NOLA then. Somehow he changed his mind.

Everyone knows if you don't sign a contract ASAP you are looking for another deal.

I took some time to decide on closing a house deal. The only reason anyone can do such a thing is cuz they're looking elsewhere.

Sheesh, this thread makes me think I'm at Walmart more than the we're gonna get blown out thread

This response was pretty good.

quote:

Mr. Duncan, I'm sorry for whatever Payton did to you or to Brian Allee-Walsh to instill in you such a hateful grudge. Your vendetta against him is undeniable. You're always looking to pounce on whatever negatives you can dream up in this whole Bountyfarce saga while ignoring the obvious deceitfulness and "truthiness" played by Goodell and the league. Can't wait until you can get another job where you'll be happier. You say, "Other owners would've viewed Payton's handling of the bounty investigation less favorably than Benson." I'm willing to bet my bottom dollar that Benson knows a lot more about what was really going on than what you think you know. All you know is what Goodell has fed you and you've swallowed every savory bite of it without question from day one.

I heard on Sirius NFL Radio this morning that Payton is in no rush to sign a deal and that he is "keeping all of his options open"

I'm curious if "keeping his options open" is a quote of SP or an interpretation of his actions/inactions by whoever was talking about it.

I'd be very surprised of SP said that.

What did Sean Payton say about his return? /thread?

When the bountyfarce news broke this contract situation was exactly the same. Only recently was this free agent potential situation leaked to the press.

He said-

in the end, even he knows he's going to be out of coaching until 2013. He's"100 percent" certain that he will return
LINK

how bout what has he said since this "news" broke?

Sean Payton spoke with FOX's Jay Glazer earlier today to discuss recent reports that the NFL had voided his 2011 contract extension and told Glazer he has no plans of going anywhere else.

"I absolutely plan on being a New Orleans Saint."

I can't take any of that seriously. The previous deal is void, circumstances are different. Payton is perhaps the only coach in the NFL who can point and show the difference by not having him on board. As such, he is seeking higher compensation as they have no contract in place

Simple business and benson understands
