We’ve missed out on so many great young quarterbacks. Held on to Brees a few years too long. Wasted time on Jameis, Dalton, Carr. This ENTIRE board scoffed at Jayden Daniels. I guess we are just “too good” to draft a qb

Absolutely. They are a great watch every week. Everytime he drops back and lets it go, you know its going to be a good pass on target, more than likely a completion. Brees had that of course for a while but to do it as a rookie is absurd.

And this is the gamble (that is worth it IMO). You get the excitement of a JD Stroud; or you get to roll with a Caleb, Maye, Penix, McCarthy, Nix, Bryce... and hope they continue to improve and become the QB of the future. Worst case is you get a guy that takes a 3rd & Goal off because he was tired on the 2nd drive of the half

The huh could be at the fact that you said "the ENTIRE board scoffed at Jayden Daniels", which is far from true. There were a number of posters that wanted JD, but those were drowned out by the "only want him because LSU", "his game won't transition...", "he's too small/skinny..."
This is another confusing one, as many on this board wanted the team to consider a QB and even joked about Loomis finally trading up to get a QB since we all know he's going to trade up.
Of course, the ironic part about wanting him to draft a QB is he finally picked a year to sit back and draft (I'm sure he made several attempts to move up) at pick 14 and watched 6 QBs get taken in the top 12; then finally drafts the 7th QB of the draft in the 5th round.

even if Saints would have had #2 pick they likely would have passed on Daniels with that front office
I think it's quite obvious Payton must have got his way more times then not on draft day and in free agency
