Jane Slater reporting Mike McCarthy is safe and zero contact with Payton or the Saints

Also notes Payton is still engaging with multiple teams including an “intriguing developing team”
Btw, Slater is very plugged in with the cowboys, so I find this legit. Also the 2nd report of a mystery team.

Well guess Jerry isn’t as infatuated with Payton as people think then because it’s shoot now or never for him.

Ima laugh my arse off when Sean Payton realizes no one wants him and he asks for his old job back

I will laugh and thank God at the same time

Well he’s not as impulsive as people seem to believe he is. Last few coaches:
Dave Campo- 3 years
Bill Parcells- 3 years(retired)
Wade Phillips- 4 years
Jason Garrett- 9 years
It was never that logical he was going to fire McCarthy after 2-3 years, especially considering the success they’ve had.

The developing team is the saints imo. Makes sense why basically none of the staff was fired. Probably just wishful thinking

That's an interesting spot. They could afford to lose some draft capital with their current team

The Falcons. I will lose my shite if so

I think he actually dislikes the falcons, despite them having Terry Fontenot and Ryan Pace on staff.
Plus, the Saints would demand 5 first round picks from those shite heads

I still think they're looking at him but that doesn't mean Paytone wants to go there to be under Jerry's control. Why would Dallas allow this to leak to piss their staff off currently if nothing ever comes from? This is the mysterious team back channeling Saints. If they can come to an agreement, then it's going to start spilling out coaching staff is toast. No reason to let it leak right now.

I don’t think the cowboys will ever be a legit option for Payton. His “connection” there and being a Parcells protege is so incredibly overblown.
He spent 3 seasons in Dallas and 3 with Parcells. He spent longer with the Giants and Jim Fassel.
Plus the control element he wants just isn’t there in Dallas and it won’t be until Jerry Jones dies.

Jones clearly believes McCarthy is a good coach. Good enough that Jones can pull a few puppet strings here and there with personnel moves and demands and they can win.
The type of moves he knows that CSP would likely give him push back on.

Right there with you except for him coming back to the saints.
One of the things he supposedly wants is the ownership group.
He had the perfect setup here, whatever he said or wanted mickey was pretty much his bitch in having to make it work. He wasn't challenged in his decisions by ownership or GM . He thinks because he won a Superbowl over 10 years ago and nothing of note since while having a hall of fame quarterback, that he is expected to have the same free reign wherever he goes and dictate what his next team has to give the saints for him.
These owners didn't get to be billionaires without looking at how an employee may affect their business in the future. He left the team in a losing trajectory based on his signings, trades, and quitting while under contract. Listen to Jerry Jones, he isn't worried about winning to make money, he is concerned with ratings.
Payton is finally realizing that his shite stinks the same as everyone else's

It is also usually the first step before a club moves on from the HC. Kind of the warning sign to the HC that we're going to make changes here and if you don't improve, you're next.

My darkhorse team is the Chiefs; he is getting up in age. With a win this week he likely goes out on top; or lose and the team brass doesn't think he can get over the Burrow hump.
Either way a Payton/ Mahomes team will continue to dominate for years.

It’s Tampa. Brady staying put.

I think it’s the commanders. New ownership coming

I think the mystery team is KC. Andy Reid retires after the season.
