If we take the 5th, I hope its cuz Payton has his eye on someone specific that he thinks we can snag that late.

Here's the latest:

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Total Access Sunday that the Jets remain interested in trading a fifth-round pick for Chris Ivory. This deal seems likely to go down on draft day, perhaps on Friday or Saturday. ESPN's John Clayton also tweeted Sunday that the Jets are indeed offering a fifth-rounder for Ivory. New York's 2013 fifth-round pick is No. 141 overall. Saints GM Mickey Loomis will likely ask for the Jets' fourth-rounder at No. 106.

the trade is done, #13 + 2014 4th (that can upgrade to a 3rd)

Please explain in dumb people terms exactly what's happening

Wait, we switched first rounders to the #13 and get the Jets 2014 4th rounder for Ivory?

No that's what the jets got from the bucs.

I will say if we can get the jets to swap 15 and Ivory for 13 things could get interesting.

Looking at the value, 13th is 100 pts more than 15th, which is in the 4th round range.

I think the jets had pick 104 which is 86 pts, so if they're sticklers we could give them a 6th rounder this year or a 7th next(we lack a 7th to give this year).

A 6th rounder put the deal more in the mid-bottom 4th value as compensation for Ivory which could be a decent compromise.

That would make a trade up to 10 more reasonable as it would be a 1st round swap, we get a 5th and the titans get a 3rd.

Gotcha, thanks

Yeah that'd be pretty cool, huh?

I guess. I don't see how moving up to 13 would make that much of a difference. We'd only be skipping Carolina and they're not likely to take anyone we need.

I think the biggest difference it would make would be if another team wanted to jump to the 13th spot slightly increasing the trade back value if they opted to do so, or the Saints were high on Richardson since he's mocked by many to go to the Panthers at 14.

Me? Hell no. I have him going 3rd overall. Also, do not want.

My thinking is this puts a move up to 9th-10th in the range of only giving a 3rd rounder(maybe getting a later pick back too).

I read it's likely to go down draft day, and maybe what we do would hinge on Johnson falling. If he does, 15 to 13 to 9-10 is plausible. If not we just take a 4th-5th rounder.

The draft just needs to get here already! The constant speculation is tearing me apart. It gets more ridiculous everyday and the worst part is that very little of it can be discarded as ridiculous in such an unpredictable year ahhhhhhh.

Mike Triplett is reporting that the Jets will bump their offer up to a 5th. I think the Saints run with that one.

Triplett is doing what all T-P reporters do, reading information on the internet. Our local reporters have no sources. They are a joke.
