Actually if manning is at 27 after week 5, he will have 11 more this season putting his streak at 38.
Next season he can add 16 to that getting his streak to 54 on week 17

it was a GREAT day for Brees and the Saints…
win in Chicago for the first time in his career… got to 5-0… Seattle loses, so we now have the inside track for homefield… and Drew's record is going to remain intact….
and I missed all of it (live at least) because i was driving back from Houston….

Good point.
He would come back another year just to beat that record.
At least we know Brees' record is Guaranteed safe until being tied week 17 of 2014 season, or broken week 1 of the season September of 2015.

as a whole, i'm not as passionate a fan of the NFL as i am college football, however, i am and always have been a Saints fan… i'm from the same neck of the woods as Bobby Hebert, and am probably in the minority of people down on the bayou that would actually still claim him….
