Pretty sure Smith didn't say why yes I would love to die tonight. You act like he purposely sabotage this man.

Frick you for this unnecessary thread. It's been arguably one of the toughest weeks to be a Saints fan, and this is the garbage thread you decide to create? DIAF

I think it's really inappropriate to compare one person's life or death to another.
The way I see it is that Will Smith was a recent player, and there are more people around right now who saw him play than saw Hokie play. There are players and coaches on the team right now who played with Smith. So of course, I could see the "current" Saints organization, and fans, being more involved in his mourning.
Now, I'm an old Saints fan, and I won't lie to you... Hokie really was my favorite Saint when I was growing up. I played fullback on my football team, and I idolized him. He was who I learned to play fullback from, by watching him at LSU and with the Saints.
But I have to say, not even once did I feel like Hokie was overshadowed somehow by Will Smith. Actually, I was impressed by how many of my friends posted some remembrance of Hokie on their social media or mentioned him to me in passing over the last week.
Not everything in life is a competition, and how you feel about something is all it takes to make something "valid" or not. What does it really matter how other people feel about what you care about? I will say to you all that I love Hokie Gajan. I always will, even though I never met him. Nothing anyone says or does... or doesn't do... associated with his death will change that.

Someone always has to go way too far in the other direction.

Certainly this quote was directed at you!

I RA'd myself. I had a lot to drink last night and the morons being interviewed at Smith's memorial saying he was a good person because he won a super bowl and made a lot of sacks prompted my thread. On with your day.
