It was professional malfeasance to hire Allen in the first place

Allen’s record with the Raiders told you everything you needed to know. Loomis should be next.

It’s honestly insane. What led us to believe that he’d be the right coach for the post Payton and Breed era??

It has all the parallels to when Arnsparger convinced the morons on the BOS to hire Archer instead of Stevie Superior, then went to UF and hired him there. Payton knew he’d be coming back to coach somewhere, and liked the idea of setting up a patsy in NO.

Nah, it was an alright hire. Defense was Superbowl caliber and I get trying to keep continuity. They just kept him around longer than they should have when it became obvious it wasn't going to work.

By this reasoning, Belichick should have never been given another head coaching opportunity after the Browns.

Payton didn’t bother to let anyone know he was “retiring” until February. Who else was available?

Allen should not have been allowed to stick around nearly this long, though.
