I honestly don't know Berrigan's role at this point either. I wish I had an excuse like VOR's senial mind though.

Goodell is a fricking prick.

The SOB is just arrogant and oblivious. I wish this would be the end of him.

I hope he does. Vilma's defamation suit will proceed, and he'll have access to all sorts of interesting NFL documents via discovery. Goodell and others will be deposed under oath. It will be delicious.

No, but in the context of an injunction the standard is whether the party seeking relief is likely to prevail on the merits. To reach that conclusion she must review the evidence in light of the applicable agreements.

So she does have the power to review the NFL's case.

If/ when Goodell issues new punishments (the same or reduced) the players would then have to re-appeal the punishments to him again correct?

They will also have to participate and not claim that RG does not have jurisdiction so they can say they have exhausted their means by the CBA

Yeah pretty much.

Florio says its false that they have to prove intent to injure. Only conduct detrimental, and that this ruling might actually help Goodell, as some have suggested.

He WILL reissue the same suspensions. Guaranteed. And they will appeal to him. Then take it to the courts.

This will only become more of a mess.

It's almost guaranteed the players, especially Vilma, will not accept any significant suspension from Goodell, because he can only suspend them for intent to injure, not pay for performance. If it was the other way around, it would give everyone a chance to save face, but it's not. Yet a number of players, Vitt, (and maybe others? IDK) have signed sworn affidavits that there was never an intent to injure program, etc. To accept a suspension (other than a trivial one) would be akin to admitting there really was a PTI program in place and frankly would taint the players more than ever. I can't imagine it would help Vilma in his defamation suit either.

From what it sounds like with Vilma, he won't accept any suspension he wants his named cleared.

Goodell is going to re-suspend and this will go back to Berrigan, IMO.

Goodell is arrogant enough to try it. I hope this does go to court so the player's lawyers can rip the nfl a new one. Won't help with the coaches but I would love to see Goodell on the stand

Here's the thing. There is no "try it". The Panel basically told him to do it. They didn't say the suspensions weren't just. They only clarified jurisdiction.

Now Goodell can frame the same suspensions within that clarified and CONFIRMED jurisdiction.

This starts all over again, probably by Tuesday.

Can any Lawyer on here make one thing clear to me. Does Judge Berrigan have the power to demand to see the evidence which the players are accused wrongdoing?

Answer: yes she can see anything she wants too
