Thought I remembered Simpkins getting in at guard last season. Maybe I’m wrong.

I can see Saints take a Guard or Center and even both this draft.

You are correct. He played both C/ OG but was a little better at backup C. Now with Fortner gone and Ruiz starting he is the solidified backup C.

Saldiveri was out the last 2 years and we drafted Banks/ Fuaga in that time frame so his chance to start at OT has passed.

It tells me they want to see if he can end up competing with Ruiz at starting OG but could still be a solid backup OT if it doesn't work out.

You add an OG in the 3rd/4th and have a battle between the (3) of Ruiz/ Saldiveri/ Draft

Saldiveri could end up starting or moved back to backup OT.

I have been told that the Saints are disappointed in Fuaga at right tackle. Of course, we as fans are not sure what Loomis, and Moore are thinking. We don't know if Simpkin's is ready to take over Ruiz's spot. We are just guessing on what and who they will pick. If the Saints are not happy with Fuaga, and we all know Ruiz seems to me to be the weakest player on the team. It will be hard to pass up Bain at eight, but my pick would be to trade down and pick the best offensive tackle, or Vega Ioane the guard from Penn St. Maybe they move Fuaga to guard, and draft a tackle. It seems like this is very good draft. We need two offensive linemen, one receiver, and defense with all other picks. Overall out look is bright if the Saints hit a homerun in this draft. Build with youth, and let Jordan, and Hill walk. I would keep Kamara draft two bad arse offensive linemen and run the ball. We have a QB that protects the ball, and knowns how to move the sticks. The Saints with an improved defense can win a lot of games this way.

Rutledge is my personal favorite. I also like Logan from Iowa.

I'd love to trade down with Dallas

We get
Pick 12 - best of remaining elite Defensive players. Delane, Downs or Bain. Worst case would be Tate or Lemon
Pick 20 - Ioane - highly rated prospect. If he were a tackle would be top 7 pick.
Pick 92 - bpa

Dallas gets
Pick 8 - Bailey
Pick 42 -
Pick 72

I would like to look at linemen in the 4 round onward. I like Slaughter or Gulbin at OC because they can also play Guard. Also taking an OT (Right tackle specifically) that can play guard as well would double up on swing linemen and also give some competition at RG. Trost from Mizzou, JC Davis or Carver Willis could be good later pick options as RT that can give some RG consideration.
