No wonder Goodell has had it in for Saints since Bountygate.
Interesting read of dynamics between players, owners and league.

Way to long of a read! But I'll give these cliffs and yes we know why Goodell has an ax to grind with the Saints. We always knew this. This article shows the cluster frick the NFL is!
quote:
There are other ways Brees proved to be one of Smith's most vocal and invaluable backers. Publicly, Brees echoed Smith's harsh criticism of Goodell in the media, a powerful player visibly in Smith's corner, especially on high-profile player disciplinary matters. And even on below-the-radar, complicated issues, Brees proved to be an influential union ally. In 2014, the NFLPA asked agents to warn their clients that signing with the Saints could subject them to unfavorable workers' compensation benefits. A Louisiana bill would dramatically limit benefits paid to players hurt outside the regular season. At the urging of Smith and other union officials, Brees and the Saints' players representative publicly denounced the measure that their own team had endorsed. In a statement, Brees declared the legislation "is not good for Saints players, not good for our team or other sports teams in Louisiana and not good for our state." Weeks after Brees publicly opposed the bill, its sponsor pulled the legislation.
quote:
Goodell, Brees said, "is judge, jury and executioner when it comes to all the discipline. I'm not going to trust any league-led investigation when it comes to anything. It's not transparent."

*TOO... maybe a little more reading would help you out
Why the frick do you elementary arse simpletons feel the need to post this shite? Is a 5-10 minute article really THAT steep of a hill for y’all to climb? Is it going to cut into your other TD browsing time? You just want to come here, and have everything spoonfed to you.
Do the reading and form your own opinions. You’ll be a better person because of it
Rant over

Good. I hope when Brees retires he goes all in on Rog.

For all of Brees' pro-union and pro-player adviserial stances against management, the players have treated him like shite.
He should have kept his mouth shut like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
It may have gotten him that second Superbowl.
Brees was getting his money anyway. His fellow ungrateful teammates and other players should have just been thoroughly fricked by the NFL and high profile players should have just shut up.
I still admire his strength of conviction defending the players union but he folded on his most important conviction when it really counted.
The irony is that the players have fricked themselves economically for a trumped up cause and people like Drew will never defend them ever again.

Goodell's life will have a O'Doyle family type of ending.
