Ingram is finally playing to his potential, but don’t kid ourselves, with this OL, the Saints could draft Chubb or Guice and produce those same numbers.
I've been as down on Ingram as anyone with his career but I have to give him a lot of credit this year. He's been running like a mad man this year.
Not that it's the same situation, but a lot of people said that about Dallas' O-line after they lost Murray and they sucked at running until they drafted Zeke. He's been out and look where they are now again.

He’s been fantastic. Arguably, the best lead RB this year.
However, the implication the clause makes is that we would have to pay big time to retain him.
Not worth it for a one year all-pro wonder. Even if we win the Super Bowl, we know from experience how hard it is to replicate the same balance offensively. Ingram and Kamara won’t be as dominant next year. It’s just the law of averages and the way the NFL works. And a cheaper talent like a Chubb or a Guice could be very effective.

He has played well. If he got to opt out then fine. Good for him. He can chase the big money as he would have earned it. I don’t think the Saints need to drop big money to retain him.

i still think he stays for 7-8mil/yr, which would put him top 5-ish in average salary.
Devonta Freeman just signed for 8.25mil and Ingram gave us a pretty good discount on that 4/16mil contract.
He's worth the 7-8mil if that's all it takes to keep him. If he's chasing Bell money than he can go ahead, but I highly doubt he is going to even try considering he was more than willing to not hit market and take a pay cut.

The defensive end can earn an additional $250,000 if he reaches 13 sacks, $750,000 for 15 sacks, and $1.25 million for 17 sacks. Considering he already has eight sacks with six games to play, he has a shot at earning some of these incentives. It would take a few big games to reach the higher end of the spectrum.

There is no way to know what Chubb and Guice would be in th NFL. Not to mention being in a position to get one of them.

Playoffs will have everything to do with it if it's close. Whoever makes the deepest run has the advantage assuming the RB has good stats contributing to the deep run.
These are reasons Manning and Brady got MVPs despite Brees having some better stats.
Just like MVP, it's voted on before the playoffs

The guys I mentioned are viewed by their coach as work horse backs. Ingram isn’t.
And he's clearly out performing them this season.
He's got 80 less yards then bell on 77 less carries....

Sounds like we will continue to see a healthy dose of AK down the stretch. Look for AK to get more TD opportunities. Ingram is running hungry, I like it.
