In case there is confusion - we are only stuck with Carr for 1 more season

That's it. Not for 2 or 3 more seasons, like I see some on here claim. But, it wouldn't help financially to cut or trade him after this season.

Saints are likely stuck with Derek Carr through 2024
Nothing about his contract prevents the Saints from drafting a QB in the 1st round this year. Carr could be the "mentor" for a bridge year or just be an expensive backup, then cut after 2024.

That's fine. We'll see what he can do in 2024. He'll be completely healthy then.

Have a 1st round QB sitting behind him. If the season is done by the mid point roll the rookie out there for experience.

Definition of insanity…doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Just start the rookie full season and let Carr be the backup. Let Carr get real healthy.

You're dumb, it's a big transition no matter how ready they think they are lol. Mahomes sat behind Smith, Rodgers sat behind Farve, and Brees sat behind Flutie. There are more examples of this but idc to look it up. Point is that these qbs need time to acclimate. It's the most cerebral position in the nfl and takes time.
