I've had enough of this endless cycle of pretending we can be competitive and signing/restructuring only to come up with 7 and 8 wins.
Deal with the consequences of kicking the cap can down the road, sell off what we can, legitimately suck for a few years and accumulate draft picks.

It wouldn't take 4-5 years if we got a decent coaching staff and QB. Look at the Texans. They were one of the worst teams in football and look pretty damn good this year.

Were they in cap hell though? Honestly I haven't looked at the timeline for all the deferrals and how long we'll be hamstrung with dead money. Mickey has wheeled and dealed so much with the cap thst he mortgaged the future for the now and it hasn't worked.

For me losing has become less about the pick and more about just assuring the Allen / carmicahel era in NOLA is finished.
I can understand the thinking by hiring Allen but the time has come to end that experiment and get a real coach in here.

You can find good players up and down the first round. Like you ssid, it’s more about we have to flush Allen and company out.
I knew this would be a waste of two years when we hired him.
