I will always be a fan of Tebucky Jones

When we traded for T-buck I was excited. He was regarded as the top free agent at the time and for the saints to get him, it was huge. He wore #34 (Rickey had left that year I think).
Some friends and I went to training camp and got a ton of autographs. I brought my old Rickey jersey so he could sign the front. I saw him at the end and he was walking to the building after a long practice in the hot sun.
I yelled out "Tebucky!" and he turned around and saw me holding the jersey up. He smiled and ran back to me and my friends. He signed all our stuff and chatted with us for a few minutes. Class act.
As the year went on he was awful. I always made an excuse
for him. It was a shame he couldn't deliver on the field. He was like Jason David. Nice guy but just couldn't cut it on the field. I will always wish him the best.
My $0.02 for everyone who bashes him

Reminds me of my Saints helmet that is signed by such Saints greats as: Deuce, Dante Stallworth, Michael Lewis, Johnathan Sullivan, Jim Haslett, Cie Grant, Tebucky Jones, Aaron Brooks and Hollywood Horn

I told'em I was a nice guy and class act and they wouldn't even give me a tryout!
I give more hate on Haz. He went for the athletically gifted (like Jones)who often weren't much of gamers (like Jones). Knight still had gas in the tank and was a playmaker is what pissed me off more. The Pats took haz on that deal.
Where are they now dept-
Jones currently resides in Farmington, Connecticut, where he is the defensive backs coach for the New Britain Golden Hurricanes, his former high school team.
On August 1st, 2008, Jones was arrested at the Mohegan Sun casino in Uncasville, Connecticut after he allegedly made “inappropriate contact” with a woman in the lobby, and then punched her boyfriend in the face.[1]
His brother, James Jones, who also graduated from New Britain High, currently works as a teacher, as well as dean of students for Slade Middle School in New Britain.
Jones' son, Tebucky Jones, Jr., recently completed his senior year at New Britain High School in the fall of 2009, and has committed to play football at the University of Connecticut. Jones, Jr. is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound wide receiver.

Please do some research. He was a young safety coming off a good year with the Pats. He was franchised and we traded a few picks for him. He was regarded as one of the premier FA's in his class

I was more excited about him. (Although he did well while here)
My huge whif was Heath Shuler. I really thought he would be a good QB with a new start and was excited about getting a QB on the way up rather than guys like Wade Wilson and Jim Everret in the twighlight of their careers. Man was I wrong.
