Part of what makes Deebo successful is that teams can't only key on him. If you do, you get killed by Kittle, Aiyuk, or Mitchell.

This year we had one weapon -- Kamara!

Not a fair comparison.

Look up Kamara stats without Brees and get back to me.

I am impressed by your dedication to dismissing Kamara as an elite player. It’s hard for me to imagine someone watching the 2021 saints short bus offense and not marveling at Kamara eeking out a good season.

But here we are.

Yards per game 2017-2020: 102.7
Yards per game 2021: 102.8

TDs per game 2017-2020: 0.96
TDs per game 2021: 0.69

Team Record w/Kamara
2017: 11-5
2018: 13-2
2019: 11-3
2020: 11-4
2021: 9-4

Fumbles
2021: Zero. Zero fumbles despite a career high in touches.

So yes. Kamara did score fewer TDs per game in a season played without Brees, most of the offensive line, Michael Thomas, a TE that can catch, or a serviceable backup RB. We should cut him and find a player worthy of his touches.

Post yards per touch and you might have a point.

Unfortunately hes not able to make the explosive plays Reggie Bush made in the playoffs for us. Hes part of the reason our offense looked so stagnant during the playoffs during the end of Brees time here.

Well when you dont run hard and look to go out of bounds as much as you can, you better at least hold onto the ball.

Treylon Burks and Drake London are my favorite two receivers in the draft. Big, physical, athletic, compete for every ball, and great balance and feet after the catch. With his yards after the catch, Burks could be similar to Deebo Samuel.

Well about 10 posts up you say Kamara was putting up his numbers this season on “volume dump offs in space” so I imagine his yards per touch were great.

I guess the other alternative is you’re “nothing but volume dump offs in space” comment is completely detached from the reality of what Kamara does for this offense.

Never once said he didnt do a lot in this mediocre offense. I said thats where his yardage comes from. His ypc is mediocre and his yardage in the passing game a million other players can do also.

His average per touch was 4.7. Well below his career average which is currently 5.8. He also set a career high in touches in a season he played the least. It was a very different season all around.

While we are on the subject of things people are afraid to post, I think we are still looking for your list of top 10 offensive players to support your position that Kamara is no where close to being a top 10 player.

Never mind. Can you post your top million player list? If that is too time consuming, can you name 2 players with more yards, touchdowns or first downs than Kamara since 2017? Just 2. All we need is 2.

Not going to waste my time with the rest of your post but Deebo averaged 13 yards per touch this season. 6.2 yards per carry.

Because he literally puts up special numbers. You don’t like him and that’s dumb but fine, but then you pivot to a “well his ball security is because he doesn’t run hard” take

It’s fricking dumb

Does he not run out of bounds all the damn time instead of putting his head down and fight for extra yards?

I actually like Kamara and dont have any issues. My issue is with people on this board thinking hes an elite player right now. Nothing backs it up and the comebacks are always some stats from years ago.

These are the numbers of him and Marshall Faulk through their first 5 seasons:

Marshall Faulk* 18.0 rush 69.1 yards 0.5 TD 3.9 catch 36.4 yards 0.1 TD
Alvin Kamara 12.5 rush 58.1 yards 0.6 TD 5.1 catch 44.7 yards 0.3 TD

4.8 yards per touch for Faulk, 5.8 for Kamara. Plus the higher TD average.

So what are we arguing here? The guy is on pace for a first ballot HOF career.
