It's only about the flag because the flag represents America and America should represent equality. But the government and bankers are turning america into a business. With no equality.. and a shitload of injustice. obviously this is what it took for change so obviously this was necessary. Any other way wouldn't have done s***...

This whole political injection into the nfl is providing a big opportunity for the XFL.

I think the nfl should do something this year to support BLM. Announcing a moment of silence with an ongoing announcement would be great!

Just quit watching.

The NFL doesn’t care about your opinion or respect for the flag.

I’m not watching the Saints or the NFL any more, and it feels damn good.

black people are tired of being told how you think they should be “allowed” to protest.

Who's telling them they aren't allowed to protest? You see, snowflakes like you get your panties up in a bloody bunch, because you conflate many issues into one. I'll break it down for you in very simple terms so that you will be able to understand:

- "black people" can protest however they so choose as long as it is peaceful. we don't care

- NFL players can also protest however they so choose as long as it is peaceful. we don't care

- HOWEVER, they must protest on their own time. On Sundays they are at work, and it's a job we are paying them to do. We do not want to see this protesting, because we are paying them to play football. Most of us find it incredibly disrespectful to not stand for the Anthem. We do not want to watch protesters disrespect our Flag during a time when we are paying to watch football, not political rallies.

In summation, blacks can protest however they want. NFL players can protest however they want, but only when they are not at work.

It is very racist of you to label all NFL players as "black people," so you should go cancel yourself you disgusting racist.

Apparently it's not "however they so choose as long as it is peaceful" You only want them to protest, as long as it is a method prescribed by you.

How many teams do you own?

If the NFL/ owners allow them to protest at work, they can protest at work. Who are you to say they can't? They aren't government employees. They don't work for you or me, they work for the NFL and the owners.

But this is how the market is supposed to work. If you don't support how the NFL is handling this, vote with your wallet. Stop consuming the product. If enough people do that the NFL will cave because in the end they are selling you a product.

The NFL and owners will decide if they are going to side with the players or the the portion of fans who are offended.

Um yes as in "peaceful" or throw whomever is not "peaceful" in jail.

Is wanting peaceful protest and marches by anyone racist now?

If I want the Klan march or anti gun march to be peaceful am I a racist too?

What suggestions do you have for the players who want to protest other things? Do you make room for every person or group that wants to express their opinions? Or will the only protests allowed be by Kap and his followers? Would that be legal to stifle certain groups and let other groups protest?

Before each game have a moment of silence for social justice, players can kneel...lay on turf ...eat a sandwich ...whatever they want to do to show support for the topic. Then ask all to rise as the national anthem is played, I'm sure there would be some dumbass players who that wouldn't be good enough for but it would give a middle ground for those players who do not support kneeling during the anthem but support the cause. I could get behind that and not have to sacrifice my sports because I will not support anyone who disrespects this country.

How about just not bring out the players onto the field until after the anthem? They can kneel or show respect from the locker room.

So the constitution bans people from protesting at the work place?

Those players kneeling are doing so peacefully. You don't want them to do that. So when you said that you are ok with them protesting "however they so choose as long as it is peaceful" you are lying.

This whole thread has been about the NFL and kneeling.
Where did I say I was ok with looting and violence?

You had to move the goal posts cause you got called on your BS.

This thread has been about the NFL players and kneeling. That is peaceful protesting, but so many in this thread claim to be for any allowed peaceful protests but don't support the players right to kneel.

Show me where I condoned violence/ looting/ rioting?

You don't have to agree with why they are kneeling but it's peaceful protest so you should agree with their right to peacefully protest.

I don't agree with the KKK, but it's their right to peacefully protest/ march.

That being said, the right to protest doesn't preclude you from social consequence. The NFL and owners are well within their rights to punish or suspend players for doing so on the job, but that would likely entail its own backlash. Conversely, if the NFL and owners allow players to protest on the job they will likely see backlash from those who don't agree with the players.
