Does Loomis pull the trigger and trade up from 8 to 6? What does it cost? How melty would Saints Talk be?

It’s not likely but there’s tons of smoke about the top 4 being:

1. Mendoza
2. Bailey
3. Love
4. Styles

With Giants likely going Downs or maybe WR, that opens up Cleveland who has been more than open to trading back according to reports.

8-6 shouldn’t be a super expensive move.

I'd be fine using a 3rd to get Reese at #6.

Yes it would take a 3rd if purely going off trade value chart

But a team behind us might give them more, who knows

Not realistic with them having a 100% chance of getting one of those guys #10. They go Styles/ Bailey/ Reese at #5.

Atleast (1) of Downs/ Delane/ Tate/ Tyson/ Lemon should be available at their #10 pick. Unless they actually think taking Tate/ Bain is better than Reese/ Tyson then this is not realistic. I believe they go Reese/ Tyson every time there.

From Jordan Schulz on Twitter:

Some draft notes, per sources:

• The high trade-up team many are eyeing is the Saints at No. 8.

• The Browns have been open to moving down from No. 6. Everyone knows the Cardinals would love to get out of No. 3.

If we are seriously considering trading up then we really should throw WR out the window. We aren't trading up for a WR or eyeing a WR if this is the case.

They haven’t been linked to any of those guys besides Styles.

No shite captain obvious. I highly doubt it would be for any of the WRs. It would be for Bailey or Reese at 5 or 6.

Might referencing the team might do the move, not that maybe give more capital

Obviously the capital will be more hence why Cleveland might take another team’s offer over ours

Yeah they have. Bailey was the favorite before Styles shot up and Bailey was presumed gone by #5.

They aren't linked for the same reason we aren't linked to Mendoza/ Reese and no longer linked to Love....cause he's expected to be gone. Doesn't mean they pass on him if he's there.

Someone posted draft odds and have Caleb Downs at +950. Many probably think that's because we don't want him but its because he's likely gone.

Its odds we acquire them not odds of how much we like someone.

Wasn't targeted at you. The amount of people who think WR is in play is scary.

WR is absolutely in play at 8. If we trade up I think it’s styles or love as the target

entertaining for sure but hopefully they aren’t that stupid. Cleveland at 6 is my limit.

Above that I melt

I just get a vibe that the Saints history is being used as leverage against the real serious teams willing to trade up. You cannot convince me that we want to trade up more than a team like the Cowboys who also have more enticing trade offers/ picks.

Even if we are "serious" about trading up we will easily get outbid. Just doesn't seem realistic this year.

If Styles, Bailey, Love and Downs are off the board, I’m okay trading 8 and 73 for Reese at 6. It’s not what I prefer, but I’d be okay with it.

I’d also be okay staying put and getting Delane or Tate there too.

How does Reese fit the Saints defense?

Not trying to be sarcastic. What I know of Reese is he's a phenomenal athletes that had 2 years playing at Ohio St. and 1 year of high production. There seems to be legit question about whether his pass rushing ability will translate to the NFL but at he very least you're pretty damn good LBer with a lot of potential.

Not saying he will or should fall out of the top 10 but I don't see the fit in New Orleans necessarily. Bailey or Bain or even Styles(If LBer is what they're looking for) would make much more sense if the Saints look to go that direction.

I think Love at 3 is a smoke screen… they’re trying to get someone to jump Tennessee so they can move down.

I still think Reese goes top 3.

But to answer your question, I’d be okay with a move down from round 3 to round 5 in order to move up from 8 to 6 if it meant getting Reese.
