If there's a special talent slipping that probably won't make it to their pick in the 2nd then it's worth looking into. If there's any uncertainty as to whether Drew comes back next year then by all means do it.

in that case there are 31 other teams with much much more that hurts less to give up to get them.
the only case this scenario works is if all 31 other teams think the player is a bust unless its in the 3rd round and we are the only team stupid enough to want them in the 1st round

Bad idea. You can get same value at 20 at 70
