CSP wasted his challenges.

Even if they got the call right, that drive ended w a fumble and Drew threw the ball right back to them so it's kind of inconsequential.

I kind of get that point but we would have had more than 2 minutes to put some type of drive together, work an extra TO I believe. Unless Payton used that TO immediately after that play which I will not put past him to do

NFL really needs the college review/challenge system

This is a common example of how the NFL system is broken.

Tough shite coach we know we are off but we don't want to get it right.

The broader point is that the refs were clearly awful last night.

That statement is not an accusation of "refs cost us the game!", but rather that it is frustrating we couldn't get a competently officiated game to determine the outcome.

I'm just saying, it was a bad call yes. But the refs didn't screw us out of this game, we did it to ourselves

-Like 7 dropped passes
-Fingertip in the end zone for a touch back
-4th and goal terrible play
-Drew's worst night in 2 years/inability to sustain a drive

It really sucks to lose to the cowboys, but you can't be too upset with 10-2. shake it off and hope you got the shitty performance out of your system.

The first challenge wasn't wasted. The pass to MT was one we shouldn't have challenged. Surprised SP let MT talk him into it.

Challenges are supposed to be for a second look at a close, pivotal play, not for correcting obvious mistakes by the refs. Payton would have needed 4-5 challenges last night, in order for this game to be called right, and still would not have addressed Kamara getting blatantly earholed right in front of the ref.

Agreed, it really needs an overhaul or at least some tweaking. I've never been a fan of the system.

You should get 2 challenges per game (in regulation) that you can get wrong. With the current system, if you miss any challenge, especially your second, you're screwed. A team shouldn't be penalized if the refs are constantly fricking up and making terrible calls.

Not at the time. But in retrospect it was because we couldn't even score

That was so obvious in real time. It’s crazy that the refs missed it

Bad call but what makes anyone think we would've done anything with it if we'd gotten the ball back there? We had the ball with 2:20 to win the game and Brees threw maybe the worst INT of his career. It was just that kinda night, we weren't going to win no matter what.

The missed personal foul on the Cowboy LB for launching and leading with the crown I was bigger. Get that one right and it’s 1st and 10 on the Dallas 27. The whole complexion of the game shifts

But they got the knuckle touching the goal line! This is one of the many reasons why I don’t watch the NFL anymore (except for an occasional big Saints game).

Exactly. The Saints second to last drive ended because the refs failed to call a targeting against Kamara. Then, the following Cowboys drive is extended because of this obvious missed call.

I'm tempted to add the questionable PI call in the end zone against Lattimore and the soft roughing the passer call that extended Cowboy drives, however the Saints blitzing safety should have never had his hands anywhere near the QB's head.

After this week with LSU FB and BB, this was especially irritating to watch.

Our guys had a bad game. Our coach called a bad game. We had a couple blown calls that hurt us (dallas too). Given all of that Dallas had to play a damn near perfect game to beat us by 3 points in their house. If it had to happen I'm glad it happened now because they play Tampa next week. Maybe this will serve as a wake-up call.
