Take your homer glasses off. This isn’t a lifetime achievement award. Mahomes is having the better year. Drew screwed it up the previous three weeks.

Edit: y’all may be convincing me. It’s just hard for me to wrap my head around it because I don’t even think this is one of Drew’s top 3 seasons.

How he is he having a better year? The chiefs are 11-4.

Stat shouldn't matter in the conversations. Like I said if that was the case Brees would of won it a few times already.

Against shitty competition apparently. The Chiefs haven’t won’t any of their biggest games this year. 0-4. Like it or not, that shite matters. Brees has led this team to victories when we needed him to against a lot of playoff caliber teams

How tho?

People keep saying Mahomes is having a better year but has lost 4 of the biggest games of the season. If yards & TD’s make the MVP, then Brees would have multiple MVP’s.

Brees is having a historic season while also having the best record in the league against arguably the harder schedule.

Where are his big wins though?

Mahomes couldn’t lead his team from behind tonight. Drew did.

MVPs have signature wins ... Mahomes beat the Chargers and Steelers in week 1 and 2 ... he has only barely beaten the Ravens outside of those

Huh?

Before tonight, Brees had a very slight lead in QBR and Mahomes a very slight lead in Passer rating.

Stats are super close.

Mahomes has an awful defense. Saints are ranked in the top 10 on defense? Brees shite the bed in the 3 road games. Granted, it wasn't all his fault but definitely still shite the bed in those games.

Mahomes has to put the team on his shoulders every games and knows he has to put up 4-5 tds through the air to win due to an awful defense. He's the definition of "MVP". KC wouldn't win a game without him. Saints already showed you can they can win with defense and barely any offense. He also has like 2k more yards and like 15+ TDs over Brees. Brees has thrown like 4 TD passes in 4 games.

Mahomeboy is the MVP and it's not even close.

They're both deserving.

I'm an admitted Brees homer but it'll be pretty crazy if Mahomes wins on passing yards and TDs over Brees, then Brees will likely end his career with the most TDs and passing yards ever without an mvp. That's like some kind of a riddle.

Do you honestly not see the irony in what you’re saying? You realize that Brees literally has done the the majority of his career right? And multiple times has been THAT guy with all the stats and not won it. Why is that?

...same reason Mahomes won’t

Even in Mahomes worst performances he still rakes in 500 yards passing and 5 TDs.

Brees should've won the MVP over Peyton in 09. He'll end his career without ever getting one and it's kinda weird. Unless he comes back next year and tears it up. They gotta get him some help if that's going to happen though.

A fair argument you could have for Brees is he throws to a bunch of bums while Mahomes throws to weapons EVERYWHERE even losing Hunt for being a dumbass.

The chiefs were 10-6 with Alex smith at QB last year and lost a playoff game by a point

They were 12-4 in 2016

11-5
9-7
11-5

In the other years under Reid
