Y'all are obsessed with this dude's height.
Consider this possibility: Go back 5-10 years. NFL owners / players are suffering from extreme jealousy towards the NBA. Looks like easy money in comparison. So, they slowly transform NFL football into something more like basketball. Suddenly the game is dominated by stringbeans. And instead of lamenting what's happened to a great sport, people are like, "hurr, durr, look at that midget."

Uhhh have you ever watched the NFL combine? Guess what happens to a WR in the combine. They put him next to a measuring tape to find out the height. This is a statistic that is placed in the player profile that every NFL owner uses to justify the spot that the player is picked in a round. We didn't make the rules of the game or of physics. When a WR demands to be paid and treated like WR1, things like height will be used to determine value.
Don't hate the player, hate the game for pointing out vertically challenged players.
