Can Humber play OLB? I thought he was ILB?

He's mostly played ILB, but I think he has the tools to play OLB. I have nothing to back that up, however.

The unofficial depth chart on the team's website has Dawson as Haralson's backup.

Linebackers currently on the roster to replace Haralson (with their positions according to the team website):

Herring - ILB
Humber - ILB
Reddick - ILB
Dawson - OLB
Knox - OLB

Everyone else is either a starter already (Lofton, Hawthorne, Galette) or injured.

Would they put Reddick at ILB and move Hawthorn to OLB?

I doubt Reddick is ready.

Perhaps they'd put Humber in at ILB and move Hawthorne to OLB.

PH was playing a lot more and I was hoping they would keep him around more next year to rotate with Butler.

I'm guessing they will play Herring and rotate in Knox and Dawson.

I'd love to see Humber playing more. Not sure if he can play that spot or if they'd put Humber at ILB and let Hawthorn play some OLB.

Rufus is still on the PS, but I doubt he gets called us since he hasn't been active all year and Knox got the call ahead of him.

Is Greg Romeus signed with anyone? Isn't Martez Wilson still with the Cowboys, or did they waive him?

I think Martez got waived.

ETA: Nope, looks like he's still a cowboy.

I wouldn't want him back anyway. If he was any good, we wouldn't have let him go and at the very least he would have stuck around with Oakland.

It's doubtful that Knox was activated Sunday because he was better suited to play defense. They chose who they thought would contribute the most on special teams.

Knox will probably be active again, but would likely be behind Herring, Humber, Dawson, Reddick, etc. in the defenive rotation.

Let's hope Dawson is healthy enough to suit up Saturday.

Herring reminds me of Shanle. I'd like to see either humber or reddick at ILB and rotate Hawthorne to OLB.

Haralson will be missed but we can overcome his absence.

As much as it pains me to say this...I think Shanle > Herring. That scares the hell out of me!

I've seen better tackling matadors. What was rob thinking putting him in there. He didn't even lay a mitt on mccoy on 4th down, and froze up. LOL, he can't play against Seattle.
I think that's why Payton was chewing on Ryan's arse after McCoy scored... Like what the hell Herring was doing in there?...

I'd have to guess that Hawthorne would swing out and Humber inside in sets that call for Haralson's personnel grouping.

Losing him sucks, but I think the Saints can handle that much better than they can losing Lewis and Vaccaro.

Parys wasn't playing a whole lot of snaps. I hate to lose the guy, but it's not a huge loss.

Week 13: 41 snaps
Week 14: 17 snaps
Week 15: 33 snaps
Week 16: 24 snaps
Week 17: 29 snaps

Haralson had been averaging more than half of the defensive snaps each week. He is a pretty big loss considering he was coming on stronger as he got more snaps.

He also played 70% of the defensive snaps against San Fran who the Saints held to under 200 total yards. If the Saints end up playing the 9ers again he could be a big loss.

I think Rufus Johnson gets about 10-15 snaps tomorrow.
