re: How do the Broncos make it look so easy on offense while we sputter now?

The radio is wrong. Did you watch the game last night? Payton had a lot of time to find an open receiver.
Drew's average release this year is 2.6 seconds, which I believe is his lowest so far. Not going to do much better than that.

because their offense is much better?

Say what you want about the rankings, but anyone can see the differences in how our offense has been the last few seasons to where it once was. We were once such a well oiled machine it was a beauty to watch, it used to be almost shocking to see us punt. The numbers may be there but the efficiency is not.
This. A lot of people are quoting stats and all, but it's plain to the naked eye that every yard is a challenge, nothing comes easy. It's a grind where it used to be a piece of cake.

It's a lot of things though.
It's more internal pressure, receivers not getting open, predictable offensive schemes, refusal to commit to the run, and Brees not throwing lasers as much, at the very least.
That's a lot of problems to fix.

What many people didn't know is that the surgeries Manning got weren't injuries, it was to turn him bionic.
Why do you think he's playing better!

Their FO >>>> ours
They pay Manning and still are able to add guys like Sanders, Ware, Talib, Ward
Oh, our defense is suspect, especially our secondary? Add Talib, Ward, draft Roby. Throw Ware on the line.
Saints FO have payed the wrong guys. They became dependent on guys developing in house (DL, WR, CB especially) instead of adding FA pieces who will fit. And their drafting fricking sucks.

This is a good thread.. I agree, I watch them and think the same thing. Reminds of a couple of years back when we had dynamic offenses and everything came easy to us.. it now seems that it is a struggle for us to consistently move the ball.. one reason being our o line is definitely not what it once was.. another being our receivers are not getting any separation these days.. maybe it's due to colston.. Meacham being a little older and even Moore last year. I can't say it's scheme because Payton is still calling plays then as he is now.. I just keep hoping that we'll return to that form but I don't see it happening.. offensively we haven't been the same since 2011.. 2012 we showed spurts of it and could move the ball but not with the same consistency as the year before.. and last year I felt like we won mainly off of defensive play..

They actually put the best players in position to succeed. As long as Meachem is here expect the same results.

Their best players are better than our best players. That is all it is, plain and simple.
They'll have their issues this and next spring with both Thomases needing a new contract. You can expect J. Thomas to hit 8mil or so and D. Thomas to hit between 12-16mil. Von Miller is on his 5th year option next year @ 9.754mil and will probably cost 10mil+ after that.
What they did this offseason was vastly improved though, but they were without a lot of starters on defense when they went to the superbowl as well.
They signed:
Ware - 10.0mil/yr
Talib - 9.5mil/yr
Ward - 5.625mil/yr
3 solid starters for 25mil. We signed 1 solid starter for 9mil.

They have better players at essentially every position on the field. So there is that...

I think our offense will explode if Evans can play up to his healthy level

Broncos passing plays are completed in less than like 2 seconds. It's pretty much snap, throw. I don't see how we don't use something like that more especially with Cooks
One of the big differences is height of the QB. P. Manning is around 6'4" , Brees is 5'11" with the cleats. Manning has the the advantage of better sight angles he can see over the defense. Brees HAS to rely on his O-line to create the lanes most of the time. Brees is actually more dangerous than Manning if he rolls out. The fact that Brees has as many 5K seasons given his height is pretty amazing.

Yep
You watch Peyton throw that quick slant to Demaryius and think that's a play the Saints should run, especially considering the time Drew gets to throw. But it would be hard for Drew to pull off that throw given his height.

Because they have a WR that can't be topped. He's too big to jam at the line and if you do, he'll run right by you with his 4.38 wheels.
Brees has never had a WR like that. Which is chiefly why I say we need to target someone like Kevin White, Dorial Green-Beckham, or DeVante Parker. Big, physical, and fast. Just what we need.

Could you imagine DT88 on this team without wanting to fap?

We've used the quick slant a good bit in the past

Remember that beastly O-line with Nicks, Bushrod, Stinch, and (healthy) Goodwin? Yeah, not exactly here anymore.
Oh, and letting Kromer go to Chicago was a bigger mistake than anyone wants to admit.

Not like we could have done anything about it. Stay here, stay as an OL coach or go somewhere else and be an OC. I'm taking OC every damn day of the week.

Manning is better than Brees, that's the difference.
