How bad does that '11 loss in San Fran sting now?

Not that I'm giving up on this year or that it didn't hurt at the time, but I think that was clearly our best team in the Brees/Payton era. And there was no way we were losing the NFCCG to Eli in the Dome. And if the Giants beat the Pats that year, we could have too. It seems like the window just slammed shut after that game against the Niners. Most of us have been in too much denial to realize it. The window is small, men, you must take advantage.
Oh well, we'll always have '09.

Best chance we ever had to win another SB.
Saints would have steamrolled the Giants the next week.

Now? It never stopped hurting

I still think that helmet to helmet that wasn't called on PT cost us the momentum, a score and ultimately the game

If we win that game, Bountygate never happens. No way the NFL misses out on the marketability of the super bowl champions.

I understand the transitive property. That's why I say we "could" have beat the Pats. But there was no way we were losing to the Giants in the Dome. The '11 team was better than the '09 one. Just didn't have the "magic." Oh well, I have absolutely loved the last 10 years. Just wish we could have grabbed another title. More for the players than us. The elation we would have experienced would have lasts a few weeks or months. But winning 2 out of 3 would have catapulted Drew and Sean into an elite legacy echelon. Oh well...

Wel the Giants beat a team that beat the Saints.... So now way they were losing to the Saints... See how that works?
It would've been close. The Giants stepped up their game in the playoffs. They would've had their work cut out for them but I wouldn't guarantee a Saints win.

Saints would have last to the Patriots. So it was better to lose then

Saints were the best team in the NFL that year. I see a lot of similarities between that years team and this one
