Ryan told him he would make him a star but he said it would be hard to resist temptations in New Orleans.

Yeah but he's not 19 anymore and he's not on campus anymore he was actually kicked off for his lack of ability to take responsibility and grow up. At some point it has to hit him, maybe his umpteenth chance will finally be a wake up call. He's weak minded and is basically making excuses for his future frick ups before they even happen. Let him frick up somewhere else and save us a wasted draft pick.

There are two types of people: those who own up and correct their mistakes, and those who play the victim card their whole life.

TM7 devastated the Tiger Nation with his selfish choices, but gets a free pass from a lot of LSU fans because of his "swag."

It's the same swag that will always deal with trouble wherever he goes.

Whyce then says "So what if they did draft you, how would you like to play for the Saints and be back in Louisiana" .... Mathieu pauses and says with a big smile on his face "I dunno man, we'll have to come up with... definitely a good plan to keep me out of harms way!"

Jesus... I was starting to really warm up to the idea of drafting him in the 3rd, but if he has to have a "good plan" to stop smoking weed, then let someone else waste a draft pick on him.

Payton loves making plan of attacks, so why is it bad thing for tyrann? Unless you have a bigoted reason for the bias?

none of this matters because the kid is 5 foot 8.5?? how will he cover 6-3 wrs in the nfl??
yeah, because this has stopped Brent Grimes and other short DB's from exceling before, right?? Besides, Tyrann Mathieu won't have to cover the tall receivers you so fear because he will be a nickel back in the NFL, a position that has become almost starter like now everywhere and a position he has come to excel at!

I don't know. I mean, he seemed to be honest and open telling them that he smoked since 12 and that it was a family member that introduced him to it. I really want him to be great, but I don't want the Saints taking a chance on him.

From this statement, its obvious you have never been around or dealt with someone fighting to overcome addiction. What maybe a low point to a person not dealing with addiction, will not be the same as an addict.

You seem to think that getting kicked off the football team had to be the lowest of the low for Mathieu when its obvious it was not. Maybe his arrest was, maybe it occurred outside of the public eye or maybe it hasn't happened at all.

The truth is, that low moment has/had to occur & at that moment Mathieu has/had to decide if he wants/wanted to continue using or if he wants/wanted the hard road to recovery.

His statement about "we'll" have to come up with a plan to stay out of trouble is more him talking about his support group & sponsors. You know, that's what people who deal with fighting addictions have around them. He wasn't meaning the organization themselves. Some people already predetermined perspective of Mathieu plus a lack of knowledge when comes to the recovery process with addiction & its causing some to misinterpret his quote.
