Alls I'm saying is that Lance just does his job. He doesn't do it better than everyone else does their's. He just does his job well enough.

So I guess you missed the deep passes to Meach and Moore?

lol

Meachem is a legitimate deep threat. Moore is not. Moore catches everything but has trouble getting separation.

To be honest, I don't know if that statement is correct, or not. The only receiver that made any impression on me last season was Colston. Moore had 32 receptions last year and Henderson had 20. Moore's average yards per catch are half of what Henderson's is (when he actually catches the ball); this shouldn't surprise anyone considering that Moore is seen a possession type receiver.

Not really.

Its good to have someone do that too. Not just run down the field 50 yards and drop the ball.

On a side note, how badly was Meach beating that guy and how short was the ball thrown? Is that all Brees had?

I'm surprised that we haven't heard about some kind of deal with Cincy for Henderson. I think they could use him & we could use a pick for him. He's probably worth a pick.

How so? He's not a very good return man, but he has played gunner. This is nitpicking.

He'll make the team regardless.

LINK

Meachem burned that dude Jason David style. That was definitely a touchdown had Brees not hesitated to throw it a step sooner. Anyway, good retrieve by Meachem and effort by Brees.

Its painfully obvious that he struggles with short passes, so stop throwing 10 yard routes to him that he's likely to drop, and just let him do what he is good at: run down the field and catch the deep ball

great observation by and obvious die hard saints fan... devery never drops the ball thrown to him over twenty yards.... EVER!!!!

I didn't say he didn't drop deep balls. My point is that if you are going to waste a play throwing at him, you might as well throw it deep and try and get something out of it. The fact still stands that he is better suited for deep routes than short ones. Note again that this is not a reflection on his ability to hold on to the ball, but rather his ability to run down the field. I apologize if I didn't make that clear.

Sad but true.
The thing with Henderson is that he make every pass to him an exciting event. It's like putting $1,000.00 on red at the roulette table.

Using that as measuring stick, Holiday should be the first player taken in the draft when he comes out.

Certainly, and if a GM was dumb enough to do that, they probably would use him sparingly, and let him run down the field and attempt to make plays, rather than try and throw him 5 yard hooks (that he would probably drop). Alas, my original comment was only meant to say that I think they will give him some PT in the beginning of the season, but if he fails to produce, that management will deem him expendable.

your right, Devery is not a short yardage receiver, he doesn't catch balls over the middle at all because he can't take contact well, those 5yd slants are worthless with him. Saints should strictly use him deep posts, flys, or isolated skinny posts, if he holds on he has chance to score every time.
