No brainer; Winston. Start Andy Dalton.

Good point. They have yet to get into a good rhythm in the
passing game. Best way to do that is to script some quick routes to get the ball out of Winston's hand which helps with the pass rush but Winston going to have to show some consistency going forward. He tends to be streaky.

Saints passing philosophy since 2006 has been about high percentage passing.
Brees was extraordinarily good at the 7-9 yard pass which set him up for kill shots on the longer passes.
It's peppering the defense early in the game with short passes and a competent running game to chew up time. Early on in Payton's tenure, the Saints could score in bunches, but really for most of the time it was 7 minute drives using multiple receivers and screen passes or short swing passes to the rb out of the backfield which served as long hand offs
The offense is not supposed to be a feast or famine big play offense consistently.

The key advantages of this is you chew up big chunks of the clock while keeping the opponents defense on the field and the offense on the sideline. Scoring too quickly if you're not scoring enough leaves too much time for the opponent to score.

Winston is awful, Saints backups would be producing better than this. How long will it take to bench Winston, Saints are on the clock!
