Has anyone heard of any possibility of the Saints moving Pierre?

Just saw this tweet....

#Saints Will Move Pierre Thomas or Chris Ivory prior to the Drafts conclusion. Potentially Both, providing needed Cap Room to sign pick
Would we really consider moving Pierre?
This is the first I have heard his name come up in any discussion...

Sounds like speculation. I think they move Ivory and are not really looking to move Pierre.

The one thing I'm looking at that makes it seem feasible is he has no guaranteed money on his contract that I'm seeing. They would take no prorated bonus hit because he had no signing bonus. I hope I'm wrong....

I like both of these guys, don't really want to see either go but I know we need the space. I would be shocked however if we let BOTH go... Not sure Ingram and Sproles can hold up all year long. Need a 3rd guy in there not named cadet for depth. I like Pierre-Sproles-Ingram

I hope not, Pierre is our most reliable back.

They just have the pre-determined rookie pay scale now that is based on where they are drafted. Still goes into the cap once signed.

I'd be shocked if we got rid of Pierre.

I can't see them trading PT when they are already in trade talks with Ivory. 3 capable backs is a good thing while 4 may be unnecessary.

PT is assumed to be traded every year, it is nothing new. He won't be traded and will be a Saint. Ivory on the other hand will most likely be traded

Pertaining to this year though this is the first speculation I've heard on the matter.

he had no signing bonus.
He had a guaranteed roster bonus his first season, which is treated exactly the same as a signing bonus except in the event that the player is traded before the bonus kicks in (if the guaranteed roster bonus has yet to reached, the new team would be on the hook for it vs. the signing bonus being all on the original team). Since PT was paid that bonus in the first year of the contract, ~$700k (next year's prorated portion) would be accelerated if it happened before the draft. Rotoworld (which I'm using) has different numbers than sportrac (which I know others here prefer), but I find rotoworld to be more accurate.
If they got a good offer for him, I'm sure the Saints would listen, but they're not going to get anything better than a ~5th or so. He's not making that much money and, at this point, we really don't have to make any major moves to free up the space to sign our draft picks. I'd guess we need to free up $1m or so, but there are much easier ways to do that than trading arguably our best RB.
And the way PT's deal was arranged lends credence to the Pats (maybe other teams) being interested in him. He was extended before the draft, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Pats were interested but wanted to wait until the draft day to make a move. He wanted to sign ASAP, the Saints caught wind of the interest, and arranged his deal to make it very easy to trade him. They went on to draft Vereen and Ridley ~1 month after PT signed, so that ended any interest.

We need to move Ingram
This. Does anyone know how much cap room releasing him would save? I don't know how to calculate cap hit at all.

We would lose money if we moved him the way his contract is structured.

How do we get the most we can for Ivory? Start a rumor that we may have some interested in Thomas and we may be moving him instead.

Thats ridiculous...let's move a guy who has had the most success under the Payton/Brees system and, anyone can debate this but I stand by it, is the best RB on the roster to run screens, and does not count that much against the cap. Pierre isnt going anywhere...Ivory will nto be with the Saints as his tender is too pricey.
