Halfway through the season

The roster looks much stronger than it did when the season started(according to our 0-3 start). We're getting much better production at WR, OL, & DT than almost everyone thought we would. Robertson & Stupar saved us at LB. We've done a good job of making due with all the injuries on defense.
(2)QB - Fine for the moment. Maybe take a shot on a qb in the mid rounds.
Drew Brees
Luke McCown
(5)RB - Not a need right now, but I assume we'll add another guy in the offseason via the draft(mid/late round pick) or F.A.
Mark Ingram
Tim Hightower
Daniel Lasco
Travaris Cadet
Marcus Murphy - Not sure why he is still on the team.
(1)FB
John Kuhn - nice find. Hopefully we can get 1 more year out of him.
(6)WR - Our most talented position on the team(along with QB)
Brandin Cooks
Michael Thomas
Willie Snead
Brandon Coleman - He's been doing a good job for our #4 WR imo. He's in a good situation to develop(still a little raw imo) with these 3 beasts in front of him.
Tommylee Lewis - He's blazing speed, but needs to improve his ball skills.
Jake Lampman - Great on special teams
(3)TE - Not a weakness for us, but also not a strength. I assume we keep the same guys next year with Hooman coming back, b/c they are all under contract next season.
Coby Fleener
IR - Hooman
Josh Hill
John Phillips
(9)OL - They've played much better than I thought they would. Strief is having a bounceback year, so we might not have a need for an OT in the draft. We definitely need an OG though(high pick).
Terron Armstead
Max Unger
Andrus Peat - Very valuable due to playing OG and also backup OT.
Zach Strief - Hopefully we can get 1 more good year out of him.
Jahri Evans - Doing a respectable job so far this year, but everyone knows we need to get a legit young guy in here.
Senio Kelemete - solid depth
Tim Lelito
Landon Turner - Hopefully he develops well and passes up Lelito soon. I can live without Lelito.
Tony Hills
(1)K
Will Lutz - so far so good.
(1)P
Thomas Morstead - Having a Pro Bowl year
(1)LS
Justin Drescher
(5)DT - Assuming we sign Fairley to a contract in the offseason...there isn't a need to add anything to this position.
Nick Fairley
Tyeler Davison - Great find in the 5th round. Legit against the run.
Sheldon Rankins - Plenty of time to develop with Fairley & Davison around.
David Onyemata - Looks fine at the moment. I think most people know this will be at least a three year project.
John Jenkins - probably his last year with the Saints
(4)DE - Need a 3-down DE via a high draft pick or high priced F.A. It's the weakness of our defense & a legit guy would complete our line. I like Kikaha & Edebali as pass rushers. Kruger & Tapp are just patchwork.
Cam Jordan
Paul Kruger
Kasim Edebali
PUP - Hau'oli Kikaha
IR - Obum Gwachum
Darryl Tapp
(5)LB - Most complicated position on the team. We struck gold with Robertson, & Stupar is a decent starter for cheap. You can't count on Ellerbe & Anthony's nickname should be "can't get right." We need to add another legit piece in the offseason. High draft pick or a F.A.
Craig Robertson
Nate Stupar
Dannell Ellerbe - He might as well be on IR
Michael Mauti - good depth/special teams
Stephone Anthony
IR - James Laurinaitis - I wouldn't complain if we cut him next year.
(5)CB - Some people think we might draft one, but I personally think we roll with these guys next year. I wouldn't complain if we did though.
Delvin Breaux
IR - PJ Williams
Sterling Moore
BW Webb
Ken Crawley
IR - Damian Swann
DeVante Harris
IR - Kyle Wilson
(4)S - Byrd has been playing better, so we might not cut him next year. If he isn't here next year, then we need to add another guy in the draft or F.A.(I'd rather this). We have to run a 3 safety set until we can get 3 legit starting LB's(which we have when Ellerbe is playing).
Kenny Vaccaro - Underrated by the national guys imo. Very important to our defense
Vonn Bell - Still going through some growing pains. He better be completely ready for next year. We're going to need him.
Jairus Byrd
Roman Harper - probably gone after this season.
IR - Erik Harris
IR - Jamarca Sanford
F.A. will obviously change this, but as far as draft needs...DE,LB, & OG are still the 3 big needs. These positions should be targeted in rounds 1-3. Rounds 4, 6, & 7 will probably be BPA, but I hope we get a QB,RB, & DB.
Hopefully we sign a few udfa's at TE & S.

I don't care if I'm in the minority here but I'm still not sold on Lutz. Missed another 50 yarder and too many of his kicks are low and in danger of being blocked

I agree that he's far from a finished product. He's doing a good job for an udfa rookie, though. I'm hoping that his high potential wins out in the end.

No kicker will ever be 100%, especially from 50+. The dude has been money imo.

Agreed and he has a long of 57. But he's also 3 of 7 from 50+. I'd like to see that closer to 5 of 7 but I'm also not aware of the league average for 50 yarders. Seems to me like kicking has gone to shite across the league so maybe he's on par.

If you listen to PFF, Tapp and Webb are great finds.
But they don't like Davison.

What is his score on the year?
He isn't a pass rushing DT, but he sure helps plug up that middle for us allowing for Nick to be a penetrating DT.
I really like the idea of using him in rushing situations and Rankins in passing situations

you would also need to see the conditions of his kick. the one from yesterday was a terrible decision. it had just started misting and the wind was swirling. the announcers mentioned how hard that kick was going to be.

Tapp is a great find. He's good against the run from what I've seen, but doesn't seem like the greatest pass rusher. I'd even keep him around next year if he still has something left in the tank, but he's not the answer for our starting DE. He's good depth & I'm glad to have him. I think everyone likes Webb as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if Davison didn't grade out well according to PFF. He provides basically zero pass rush, but my eyes like what they see out of a 2nd year run stopper. Our run defense seems to be much better when he's in the game. He's the guy that does the dirty work so that other guys have a clean shot at the RB. Guys like that don't translate to good PFF scores. Our run defense has been pretty good up the middle, except for that game against Atlanta(which he didn't play). Teams have decent success running outside the tackles against us(which has nothing to do with Davison).
