"Halftime" v's "Woot There It Is" and "Who Let Dogs Out"

The Saints/Superdome run every popular "celebration" song into the ground and then beat it to a bloody pulp. Here's my recollection of each.
"Whoot, There It Is!" (1993-1997)
I believe this was christened during the 1993 season. Many NFL teams used the more popular "Whoomp, There It Is!" by Tag Team, but the Saints used this earlier (by one month) version. And the Saints unfortunately used it for about 2 years longer than most NFL teams. I'd say we heard this fricking song until around 1998 when "Who Let the Dogs Out" became popular. A random fact is that when this song was played at the Superdome, I remember they would always display "WOOT THERE IT IS" on the Superdome videoboards, misspelling "Whoot" by leaving the "H" out.
"Who Let the Dogs Out?" (1998-2004)
This godforsaken song first hit the Superdome during the 1998 season when Mike Ditka was at the helm. This song was especially embraced by moronic Saints fans (as these all are) because our defense under Zaven Yaralian had been nicknamed the "Swamp Dogs". This song was played constantly until around 2001 when Mark Fields (anchor of the "Swamp Dogs" left for greener pastures. It is still (unfortunately) played every once and a while even to this day. After a big defensive play or turnover the Superdome videoboards would scream "WHO LET THE DOGS OUT" or "SWAMP DOGS" while the 43,000 true Saints fans who showed up (myself included) would go apeshit.
"Stand Up and Get Crunk (Halftime)" (2008-present)
This song obviously became popular during either the 2008 season or the 2009 preseason (depending on your recollection), when the Saints players would dance to it before kickoffs and fans on message boards would start "What is the name of the song that Jason David / Roman Harper are rocking out to before kickoffs" threads. It became synonymous with the 2009 season as the Saints piled up win after win and the crowd started singing and dancing along with the kickoff team. The Superdome video boards helped along with huge "STAND UP AND GET CRUNK!" messages displayed on the 4 corner videoboards.
I would imagine we're going to have to endure this fricking song for the next 5 to 6 years, or until a more popular shitty song comes along to take its place.

i too hate stand up and get drunk. but it does get the juiced up yats going at the games. we needed to bury that song after the super bowl.

Who let the dogs out and whoot there it is got play in a bunch of venues not just the Dome. Halftime however blew up b/c of the Dome/Saints success. I'm pretty sure nobody else plays it except the local joints like the arena.

To me the swamp dogs were the back 7 who flew to the ball like a pack of dogs. Your interpretation is valid too I'm just going from my recollections.

La'Roi glover was definitely the leader.
and i dont think the swamp dogs came until that first playoff season, but i could be wrong. Or maybe i only remember that season because it was the only memorable one in a while
but im pretty sure Glover was on the cheaply done CGI type animation they would throw up on the video board after a sack or an INT

I'm pretty sure the swamp dogs were the defensive line. One of Abdul's songs was about the swamp dogs, and I'm pretty sure I have that cd laying around somewhere.
And to the OP, the swamp dogs and the miserable, miserable "who let the dogs out" was post-ditka. Remember the signs: "Jim Haslett the dogs out"

The 2000 season will always be up near the top of my favorite seasons.
