who may or may not be good. Let's face it, they had zero competition for those spots.

Yes, but you spend more time and money in 1-2 rounders. it's expected that they are the staples of your roster.

However, it's easy to miss on UDFA. There is almost no consequence.

Ehh, thats just how statistics work. The average team probably brings in i would say at least 10 if not more legit UFA. Eventually the number of signed UFA will be a very large number due to the large amount of tryouts that they get. Only (roughly) 64 first 2 round picks yearly.

You have to admit, there was hope that this would be a good draft to help. Outside of Peat, you have 3 defensive starters this season (Anthony, Davidson, Williams). However, overall, only 1 year later, it seems to be trending to underwhelming at best.

Don't forget Kikaha is on IR... otherwise he'd be another starter from that draft

and I think we all agree he's shown he can be very good

they drafted Kikaha knowing he had already torn 2 ACL's. I understand the risk/reward, but you have to suspect at some point he was going to get hurt again. And sure enough, he did. Wouldnt be as bad if you actually hit on the picks around him, but we dont have that luxury.

Since week 6 of last year he has more torn ACLs than sacks

That's irrelevant. The stat is quoted to show how many undrafted players there are in relation to 1st and 2nd rounders as if drafting early round players is soooo hard. There should be that amount of undrafted guys. Rosters have 53 players.

It's like the stat that gets popular before every draft that says "There are over 300 two and three start recruits on NFL rosters and only 52 five stars. Omg star rankings are crap!" Well no shite idiots there are about 30 five star players entering college each season and literally thousands of 2 and 3 star players.

If Grayson goes to the PS are you guys still going to act like he's a wasted pick?

Wouldn't that make it a fact? Second years #75 picks that make it through waivers unwanted is a pretty strong statement.

He's a wasted pick even if he made the roster this year

Everyone knew this was a wasted pic when it was made. We could have used that pic for immediate needs.

There is way too much happiness in this thread about the fact that the team tried to prepare for life after Brees and it so far has not worked out.

You same people will be crying that the Saints suck and can't find a QB once Brees is gone, when you cheered on the failure of his potential successor. Ridiculous.

It means that he's not good now. He might never be, but if he lands on the PS, you can't shut the book on him or call him a wasted pick at this point.

This is the hardest position in pro sports to play.

It doesn't look good now, but y'all are being premature.

Careful. Next you will be accused of loving every draft and of thinking Loomis is the greatest GM of all time.

He's a waisted pick even if he's a backup in the league for the next 10 years. We had other needs, like Guard, and already had a pretty good QB.
