Any rational fan wants them to beat Carolina. Get both of them in the middle

I would never root for the Falcons or any of our division rival no matter the situation.

Never say never. What if needed the Falcons, who we are sure would finish with a losing record, to beat a team in the last regular season game to clinch homefield, or clinch the South or a playoff berth. Wouldn’t root for them then?

You damn right you would.

Hoping they lose and get a great draft pick is rooting for the Falcons

Same here. I hope they win enough to not be in a spot to draft Devin White (if he goes pro)

Saints (11-2) @ Carolina (6-7) MNF - picking saints obviously
Eagles (6-7) @ Rams (11-2) - picking eagles obviously
Packers (5-7-1) @ Bears (9-4) - picking packers obviously
Cowboys (8-5) @ Colts (7-6) - picking colts because frick da cowgirls
Seahawks (8-5) @ 49ers (3-10) - picking 49ers just so they have a 5 way wild card team tiebreaker clusterfrick
Cardinals (3-10) @ falcons (4-9) - picking falcons to get worse draft picks
Dolphins (7-6) @ Vikings (6-6-1) - picking dolphins because frick the vikings
Redskins (7-6) @ Jaguars (4-9) - picking skins just so they have a 5 way wild card team tiebreaker clusterfrick

People act like drafting top 10 or even top 5 is so much more of a sure thing than top 15.

while thats true on a "basic" level, a top 5 pick has a much higher odds of becoming a starter for your team then a 6-15 pick is.

plus if there arent any sure thing players for one of your area of need, then a top 5 pick can be turned into better and more multiple later picks then a 6-15 pick gets you.

in spirit your point has merit but in practice it doesnt

yep, the proverbial quick sand of mediocrity and deniability.

how many years did we go under haslett and mora saying every single off season that "we are just a player or two away from being a playoff contender"

Fyi, Redskins are 6-7, not 7-6.

this just means you get the first pick before the first pick in the next round, so its not as bad as it looks on paper if you think of it like the SB winner gives up 1st round pick to pick 1st in all later rounds

Can't believe there are at least 14 "Saints fans" rooting for a Falcons' win.

frick the Falcons. Let them lose them all.

Edit:
As for the hypothetical "if we need them to win for help in making the playoffs, seeding, etc." then yeah that's a different story because it helps us directly.

For draft position, who gives a frick? They've drafted pretty poorly since Dan Quinn arrived. Bunch of mediocre guys no matter where they take them.
