For all you Reggie Bush haters, STFU

This is an article comparing one of the best running backs in Marshall Faulk to one who was projected to be one of the best, Reggie Bush.
I have a list of things both of these running backs have in common.
Now, I am not saying that Bush is as good as Faulk was, but what I am saying will probably change your minds on Reggie Bush being labeled as a bust.
Faulk was taken second overall in the 1994 draft by the Indianapolis Colts and Bush was taken second overall in the 2006 draft by the New Orleans Saints.
Both players went to 3-13 teams.
Faulk was born in New Orleans in 1973, Reggie Bush began his NFL career in New Orleans.
Now I will begin to actually compare Faulk's and Bush's careers. I will mostly base this comparison on the first three years of their careers.
Bush has yet to pass the 1,000 yard mark on the ground, but like Faulk, Bush has been very effective in the receiving game.
In his first three years, Marshall Faulk recorded 164 receptions, 1425 receiving yards, and four receiving touchdowns. Bush recorded 213 receptions, 1599 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns.
Faulk and Bush both had issues with fumbling in their first three seasons. Faulk fumbled 15 times, while Bush fumbled 13 times.
Another issue that troubled Faulk was injuries in his third season. That limited him to just 13 games. In Bush's third season, he was also injured, causing him to miss games.
By comparing these two men solely on the third seasons of their careers, we see that Bush averaged 3.8 yards per carry and Marshall Faulk averaged 3.0 yards per carry.
Now many people might want to bite my neck off for this article comparing Bush to a future Hall of Famer in Faulk, but it is something I felt should be looked at by others.
Faulk came back in his fourth season and made up for his poor third season.
I hope that Reggie Bush can turn his career around like Faulk did and give the Saints the explosive running game that many people expected.

I love Reggie as well and hate it when "saints fans" talk bad about him.

as it's been said many times before, this is Reggie's year to prove he is worth a damn. He does well this year, and all will be forgiven.

KC?? Priest Holmes wasn't coached by Martz.
Martz didn't do anything at Detroit/San Fran
1999 St. Louis Rams
(offensive coordinator)
2000-2005 St. Louis Rams
(head coach)
2006-2007 Detroit Lions
(offensive coordinator)
2008 San Francisco 49ers

I'm not a Bush hater. But what exactly in this little diatribe shuts the haters up? He has a similar start to Mashall Faulk. Whooptie Doo!
I believe that he will very productive and I have nothing but gut feeling to back that up but this proves nothing.

STFU isn't that a standard word on TD.com
It seems as though you would know that.
Before he got hurt last year, he was starting to really pay off.
It's funny how nobody blames the offensive line on run blocking.
Pass blocking great. Run blocking so so, if that.

This is a very common thing here on Saints Talk. The Oline is accused of bad run blocking all the time. I'm not sure where you are going with all of this. I liked where it started, not excited about where its going.

Thanks for the lesson Professor.

Seriously, this happens every day.
Besides, you really can't argue with Bush haters here. THey will always argue that he is the highest paid back and does not perform the duties of a RB. Until Reg get 1200 yds rushing, most of them will not be satisfied.

Pierre averaged 4.6 ypc last season so the line seemed to block for him....Bush averaged less than 4 ypc, as usual, so for him I guess the line sucks......make Thomas the feature back and this line will block like a bunch of beasts....i don't hate Bush but I sure as hell don't like him too too much....he's aaalright...he needs to be our full-time kick returner and receiver/slot back type....but i'm sick of seeing wasted carries go to Bush when we've got more capable running backs to get the more consistent, tough yards...

quote:PT didn't seem to have a problem with the blocking. Reggie has never seen over 4.0 ypc in N.O. I want to see him succeed but how long do Saints fans have to wait? Will the front office ride him until he has no value? That's my concern with Reggie.

Where was PT against Denver on 1st and goal at the 3 or 4yd line?
Where was PT against TB away game before the rain hit and we had 2 short yard 3rd downs?
If the Saints get the first down or TD in those games the outcome would have been a lot different.
Those are just two examples that stand out to me, there were more. Bleet dat!!

You ask that question? You must not watch games. He was hurt before the TB game started.
I wasn't dogging on PT, I was just referring to your comments.
Nobody was getting the job done.

This is Reggie last year. All comes down to money. If he is a beast this year, we will restructure, if not he is done in New Orleans. Good luck Reggie and

Nope, I wasn't against PT. That's the problem with emailing and ranting. You can't hear the tone.
Look at the key word that's used in my last sentence.
If the SAINTS, get the first down or TD
SAINTS as in team.
I wasn't referring to PT or Reggie.
Ok that's enough for today.
I'm out.
