He supposedly makes $10 mil. a year at Fox. Roughly what he was making with the Saints $9.8 mil. Offensive minded coaches are highly coveted in the NFL but I think he would be a fool to not come down to the $16-18 mil. range. The more a team is willing to offer him the more his perceived value to the Saints and helps the teams reason for claiming high compensation.

I have said this since 2011 and my suspicion has grown more since. I believe the league is against Payton because the saints were not supposed to win the SB in 2009. Payton went against the league and showed them up and he has been enemy #1 of Goodell ever since. Payton went rogue and the league is limited in how they deliver retribution without the league corruption being unmasked.

If the league that you describe didn’t want the Saints to win the SuperBowl
