Almost want the pick to be O line.

It’s the most important part to having a good offense.

Unger is old and injury prone. Peat’s coming off injury and contract is about up. Lost Strief and Kelemete.

A monster guard/center is just what the doctor ordered.

o-line wouldn't be my first choice, but I can see it being a possibility just like picking Ramczyk at 32 last season

Originally, I was against it, but seeing how free agency went (nickel, safety, linebacker all addressed).

Go for it. It's not about winning it all this year (ideally we will), but winning in 2019.

I disagree with that. It’s about winning right now. You never know when Brees falls off the cliff, and when he does, the window is closed.

Competition at tackle and guard /center is always a good thing.

But where is the future edge rusher?

Going to be a free for all on draft night.

Lots of fun eats and bourbon.

Hopefully Saints sign Robert Ayers...interest was rumored. A very good player still.

Then we have several options and hopefully Okafor can work himself back to 2017 form.

If I told you they drafted another Ryan Ramcyzk at 27, would you take that over zay Jones or David njoku?

Bushrod helps more at guard, but we're still woeful at backup tackle. We can live with one injury, we definitely cannot with two. History tells me we're gonna be dinged up.

Yes I would....was only disagreeing with the second half of your post.

I just think a good offensive line is one of the most important factors to success...even backup linemen.

A stacked DAL offensive line and Zeke has carried the Cowboys to 22-10 record over the last two season with Dak Prescott as their QB. Loaded up on OL is good for future prospects post Brees. Best way to bring along a young QB if we happen to go that direction.

I think we're win now, but if a pick sets you up we'll for 2018 and even better for 2019, I'll take that over questionable picks that may or may not help in 2018 or 2019 is all.

I don't want us to reach for a wr/te if it's not there just because we need it for 2018. It's not as important if you get what I mean

I agree about the o linemen

Should have quoted the second half of htran’s post. It’s win now time now, not 2019...and a great line will help that, even if he doesn’t start.

Not getting an instant impact DE at pick 27 anyway.

Completely agree, htran. Saints can draft linemen. A lineman can help us this year and beyond.

An injury to Ram or Terron or Unger would sink us. Brees needs to be protected. Most important part of an offense, especially with 39 year old QB.

Hypothetically, if the Saints grabbed Ayers, Marcedes Lewis or Watson, and stole Meredith, they would be set up to take Wynn, etc. and maintain the offensive line as a strength.

Making sure the unit stays top notch is as important as anything. Brees will have success with a great line and a mediocre WR corps. He may not with better WRs and a trash line.

Not to mention, a Brees injury will ruin our lives. Lol.

Second most important, but the point still holds true.

I don't like to say we have to pick any position, it's best to go BPA, with maybe some restrictions and preferances. I would say safety is an unlikely selection at 27, as is RB and maybe corner and MLB, giving a little preference to WR, OLB, TE and QB.

OLine depth is always something to look for, as is DLine, but if we had 2 equally graded guard/centers or DT/DE, I would think we would go defense there. We have had a lot of success with mid round lineman, it has without a doubt been the strength of our drafting under Loomis. It's easy to say "go draft another Evans, Nicks, Bushrod Streif" and much harder to do of course, but I think you see what falls and don't pigeonhole yourself.

I am fine grabbing a center in a few years through free agency.

To won now we need another offensive playmaker (Kirk) or DE (Key)

A win now approach calls for vets at those positions imo. Gotta factor in the learning curve. You can still draft em but we need a Meredith and an Ayers type to supplement them

Now on offense drew helps with the learning curve of course. I’d expect them to draft a smart guy like Kamara and have them flashing by mid season

Taking a future guard would make a lot of sense. You have to replace Kelemete.

If Peat or Warford goes down you have a player to step in. If Armstead or Ramcyzk goes down Peat can slide to tackle and the guard can move in.

Someone is going down and going to miss some games.

Here's what I think you guys are overlooking. This team was ready and could've won it all last year but just fell short. Is there a few positions that we need more depth like WR and TE? Absolutely! Could we use D-line and O-line? Absolutely! But this team doesnt have any "Pressing" needs. I firmly believe we could field the team we have right now and still win the Ship. So we can easily go best player available and it'll be just fine regardless of position. So if there's a O-line guy that our scouts feel is badass at 27 then you draft him and dont think twice. I would rather a TE or WR in the first but we will be just fine if its not. Because like I said this team is ready now so let's stop all the talk of "we have to get this position in the first or we are doomed" talk because it is total bullshite. JMHO

I just want to draft a starter. I don't care the position as long as he is an offensive or defensive starter.

If Kirk starts over Ginn that is fine
If Key starts over Okafor that is fine
If Edwards starts over Klein that is also fine
Even Gobert over Fleener is also good.

Just grab an immediate upgrade over a veteran.
