I happen to be friends with someone on the Saints administration staff that was pretty tight with SP (played a lot of golf together and golf trips).
He made an unsolicited comment about a month ago that caught my attention. The conversation went to having LSU players on the team now. His comment was they never wanted locals (family) hanging out at the Saints facility “and that’s why we never drafted LSU players”.
Believe what you want, but that unsolicited comment made it seem like there was an active bias against LSU players.

I have a feeling this game will be over by mid 3rd quarter. We’re about to see what happens when you go for the best players available no matter what college they played for. I’m super pumped. Go Saints (and LSU).

People don’t like to admit when they are wrong. It’s alright though we’re all Saints fans and we need some unity. It’s all good!
