He was the best available OL and that imho was our biggest need. We're going to sell our soul again to move up to make this a SB year. Get used to it. Next year means nothing. This is our last shot, fellas.

Our window is now down to 1 year with Brees. Unger is on a beach somewhere. We better dance with who brung us. Love love love the pick. He wouldn't have lasted til 62. Every team could use a good young OL. Saints just shoved all in.

Totally agree. too bad not everyone understands. Plus they got an additional 4th for a 7th. Maybe they like the fact that their are a bunch of really good players still left so they are trying to get as many as they can. I have a feeling that if Will Grier is still around in the 4th they will take him

Obviously, the Saints didn't think he'd be there.

I'm starting to think that we stay put & just draft at 116 tomorrow.

Wouldn't mind trading up tonight though

No, the Saints aren't "fricked" for this year's and next year's drafts--"fricked" teams don't win as much and advance as far as they have the past two years. Those of us for whom the Draft is the yearly chance to unwrap the shiny new toys might feel a little "fricked"...but the team seems a little more interested in amassing wins rather than in amassing "weapons".

Exactly. I mean, they could have gone receiver and taken Metcalf. That dude is a first round talent, has speed and can stretch the field. I guess the Saints liked McCoy more than Metcalf. It just seems like they have been frivolous with picks the last 2 years.

I like the pick. Erik McCoy is a very good player and will help a lot on the oline. But, I think he'd of been available at 62. And there were a few other players rated higher the Saints could have got.

Rated higher by who? An internet mock draft site? Obviously not by the Saints. Once Risner and Jenkins went off the board quickly, they could not afford to wait to see if McCoy would make it to them. Center is the position whereby a draft choice could help immediately. Hew as probably the last starting quality center left and they decided to go get him.

Metcalf “look like Tarzan, play like Jane”. Guys value went way up during the draft process bc of measureables and being a freak, not his talent on the field at OM. Terrible shuttle time. Straight line speed, one trick pony w questionable hands
