What if the money for the bet on your team to win came from the opposing team? There's too many ways to exploit gambling if you allow the organizations to place bets. For example, DB on team one isn't happy with his contract, gives WR on team 2 100k to bet on himself going over 100 yards receiving. They split the winnings after DB one let's him go deep.
Then DB one gets cut after the season because he gave up too much yardage. Now he has zero money. Is that what Eli Apple keeps doing?
I get what you're trying to do here, but this was a bad example. lol

Found this interesting:
Almost traded to Philly

JAY GLAZER: It was actually funny because they were one of the teams, they were close to a deal with Atlanta for Calvin Ridley, and Atlanta backed out at the last second. And Philly was like, ‘What’s going on?’ And they couldn’t really tell them. And so Philly wasn’t too happy but after [the Ridley suspension news broke] was like, OK, Atlanta did business the right way. They weren’t allowed to say anything, the legalities of it. They weren’t allowed to say a word. They just had to pull out. But, man, Philly could’ve gotten Calvin Ridley if he didn’t have these issues, that would’ve been good for them. But, again, Howie is always really aggressive. That would’ve been big.

1500.00 Cost you 10,000,000.00
Think about that for a second.

Because he used his own account. If he did like the rest of the players and had someone else bet for him, this isn't a story. The NFL had to do something because it would have gotten out.
It's OK for players to play fantasy football but they can't bet on games. League is a fricking joke. There's nothing real about this game except money.
